Let's say theoretically that this NA team could exist in the olympics as well... I don't think the canadian players would want to ruin Canadas most important gold

I do believe because it's an NHL tournament, things are different... a win here doesn't mean as much as olympic gold (national-pride-wise) even though the quality of the players and the games are as good if not better.

Well, this could never happen in the Olympics, but I'd still say the kids themselves would still be inclined to win the Gold for themselves. It's one of the highest achievements in sports.

Scheifele worked great with both Matthews and McDavid in the 3 pre-tourney games. He didn't know where the puck was and Barkov tried to body up against him in the crease and Scheifele just dumped him on his ass in return. Nobody even saw the penalty so it's hard to tell whether it was a stupid one or not.

Puck would not have gone in anyway had GI not been called. Scheifele has been terrific pre and tourney games thus far.

Funny how they are concentrating so much on Granlund on the Finnish studio. It's crazy how much attention is paid to an NHL middle 6 player.

McDavid/Scheifele, move over! Stop hogging the puck. Quit being ridiculous!

Get out of Matthews' way.

Wasn't so good by them. Had a few attacks but none of them ended with a pass to Laine. Sebastian Aho has been pretty terrible this game from what I've seen.

To their credit, NA has had some pretty active sticks in the passing lane so far. You can tell they're playing special attention to Laine (Murray was on him like a dog and blocked a shot)

It doesn't change the fact that those things happened. People are saying McDavid has no finish but where is Scheif's?

Lotta time left. As many chances as North America created they only end up getting credit/cashing in 1 of them. I have a feeling the Finns tighten up things this period. Finns won't lay down. The overall team speed of NA is something to behold tho.

Those two have been great. They just have an anchor (No offense Jets fans) on their line. They need someone who is smarter with the puck.

Passing into McDavid's skates on an odd man rush just isn't going to cut it.

It's definitely something else. Those two likely won't play together again, well, ever.

Seemed like the only guy who actually won puck battles.

LOL mcdavid finally produces a point and you're already calling his linemates anchors? When mcdavid takes a penalty will he be an anchor too?

The line is fine and McDavid and Matthews have made a lot of little plays to one another. I don't see an issue with the line and I think Scheifele has been solid throughout the pre-tourny games.

Maatta seems to be getting slower every time I watch him. Both with his decision making and on his feet.
