That's what USA gets for leaving out guys like Kessel and Johnson for Abdelkader and Dubinsky. Do they not know how Pittsburgh won the Cup? Speeeeeed.

Kessel and Johnson would run laps around that old Europe defense (minus Chara, Kessel sucks against Chara).

Yep. Kessel, Johnson, Shattenkirk, and Faulk all should be on this team. In fact it's absolutely inexplicable that they're not. And of course dumb**** is benching Buf instead of Jack Johnson on top of that.

The refs are spot on so far overall, that (no) goal just confirms it... Im impresed

Well, it's an interesting idea, but if you ask the players, they would probably much rather play for their own country than for an undefined 'Team Europe'. Countries or 'nations' are formed for a reason, the largest being language plus mentality, customs, etc. You can't bundle up all 'Europeans' and tell me they're all the same. Spaniards, Germans, French people, Polish people, Hungarians etc. are quite different from one another.

I wouldn't be too mad with a larger chance to win (even though it still isn't large).

Europe is outplaying the U.S., they're hungrier and want to win more than the U.S. does, at least from what I observe.

Players do what JVR did with their skates all the time to score goals and its legal to do so.

Strange that what JVR did is not as long as it wasn't off the glove/hand.

For sure, and it would lead to some complicated questions. But I think it makes just as much (or little) sense as having a North American u-23 team.

On the topic of the disallowed goal, if (and I disagree with this) you think that JVR initial touch of the puck was intentional - then shouldn't a later unintentional touch be nullified and the goal disallowed? It's the classical question with the offside rule were, if a player went offside and it remained uncalled 10 sec before goal, should it matter?

Well yeah, but you don't win anything for your own country, it's still for 'Team Europe', which is an artifically created entity.
