This Czech team would obviously be dominating if it weren't for the refs. Look st the players on each team. Canada simply can't match them player for player. There's a reason 50% of players in the NHL are from Czech. They are so superior

I agree that they probably should have had more American refs and some from other countries. Canadians don't like it either cause then the sore losers have excuses and try to take away from a Canadian win. But to suggest that the reason Canada is winning is because of the home town refs is absurd and shows an enormous amount of disrespect to these refs who take tremendous pride in being unbiased.

Exactly, and I have never made that argument in general, and certainly not about this game in question. But I've sure heard it from people around me, and I'd just prefer not hear that - that's all.

I think of regular law, where judges have a legal responsibility to separate themselves from cases in which someone might just suspect they have a bias - even if they don't. To me, being from the same nationality as one of the countries, is one of those cases. Even though NHL refs obviously have no legal responsibility.
