McDonagh will not play tonight. Neither will Girardi nor St. Louis. Carcillo and Falk will play v Montreal.

Don't get too excited here... Higgins is a very good 3rd line forward (or a poor 2nd liner, you chose). A hard worker, fast skater but with poor hands. And McDonagh has been deceiving this year, to a point where some have doubts he'll ever make the NHL. And if he does, it will be as a defensive defenseman.

MSL needs to play.

Sit Girardi, Boyle, and Nash or Hagelin.

Girardi and Boyle take a beating with the crucial minutes they have played this year at the end of games and on the PK. Nash doesnt need to be out there so it should be him sitting over Hagelin.

Edit: just saw the tweet. Do not know why Nash would play over MSL. MSL needs to continue to work on his game here. Is Nash being punished for his poor effort on thursday? Sure looks like it.

MSL probably got off because he's like 152.

Tampa-Montreal series makes for a lot of travel, I have to say.

Unfortunately for you guys we'll be resting players this game. This game is meaningless for us. Still hope we win.

Meh, you don't know what nagging injuries there might be nd this is probably the last chance to get a player healthier before the grind. G and MSL might have minor annoyances to get rid of.

Eh if it's 4 days off until the playoffs start (assuming they start on thursday?) then it's not like playing them tonight will keep them game ready. Everyone's gonna be a bit "rusty" in terms of having a bunch of days off, so might as well give some extra rest and protect some players.

I get that, but the unit that will be out there tonight is still probably better than what the Islanders put out there on Thursday night against the Habs and they came out with a win so I'm certainly not going to count the Rangers out because they decided to give some well deserved rest to some key players.
 
I think with Cambot in net, we get a win regardless.

Also, just got a bleacher report about McDonough saying he will be ready for the playoffs.
