the 19-20 is a bit scary. might need a little more add from the wings, as idk if jurco/pulki is enough to justify it

Agree Detroit would've to add something better then Pulkkinen/Jurco to move Ericsson's contract it's pretty bad for 4 more years for someone who's more then likely going to be spending most of his time on LTIR any ways.

how about taking Ference for a 4th?

He's injured and insured so you wouldn't have to actually pay him anything, and his deal expires in July so you can ramp up spending next year if you wish. I know we can just claim the space, but that space goes away just before our ELC bonuses would kick in so there is risk of overage here. We could also use the contract limit space (or do we get that spot back from LTIR?).

and it pains me to say it, but you should be talking to Calgary about taking Wideman off their hands. He's 5.25 AAV with 6 in actual salary, but they would be desperate to move him and would probably offer something pretty huge if you took the whole contract without retention. Think about the Teravainen deal to Carolina huge.

New jersey's close to a playoff spot, got to think they may kick the tires on an available player to use up that other money.

They should try and do badly this year though.

Imagine Nolan Patrick with Taylor Hall. THEN they can start to be taken seriously again.

I've said this way too many times. Boucher for Despres.

NJ could need a Top 4 LHD, and most importantly Shero seems to be collecting former Penguins.

Ducks could need some forward depth and cap space to sing Rakell and Lindholm.

they won't ever be bad enough to get the #1 pick as long as they have Schneider.

I wouldn't be opposed to this.

Instead of taking junk and a good prospect, wouldn't New Jersey be better off taking advantage of a team with cap issues and getting a good player for it? Try to put pressure on a team like Anaheim for Fowler with rumors of offer sheets for Lindholm and Rakell. :naughty:

if i were nj's gm i'd treat that cap space like gold. now if i were willing to take on a bad contract i'd try to start a bidding war and get max value. i wish my wild had cap space! if we had a 2nd to offer you to take pommer id do it instead of buying him out next summer. our gm has given away picks like halloween candy. cheers! last time i was in jersey i had a great sub sandwich in bridgeton a little place called harriets or hazels. i asked for a big pop and the cashier had no idea what i wanted!
