We manhandled Calgary that game, but they converted on their chances and had a backup goalie stand on his head; it happens.

And as I expected the PGT is full of bitching. These boards are going to be unbearable this season.

If Toronto wants to deal Nylander then it has to be for some combination of Zuc, Spooner, Hayes, Namesticov, Smith, Staal , McQuaid or Vesey and no high end picks or prospects. For sure, I'm not interested in dealing our latest high draft picks or future #1 picks. We have to continue building through the draft. Really though I'm comfortable trying for Panarin when he is ufa and just keep on acquiring assets from players we wont be keeping.

Only problem is that we have a lot of players to move if that's what we are doing. We most surely would get stuck holding a few of them. Making a move that makes sense without derailing the rebuild is acceptable to me but no young assets or picks.

So then hold some of them. You will always be losing value if you force a trade.

BTW, Pionk is the player all you people desperately want ADA to be.

If this team is serious about tanking, just keep dressing Marc Staal. I wish I could find a way to get paid as much as he does to be as bad as he is at doing it, whatever it is.

They played a very good game and lost. It happens. And has happened often so far. If they continue to play like this they are going to start winning despite what many people hope. They’re just not that bad. They just haven’t been able to finish on their chances which will end up regressing back to the mean with time (unless you believe they are the worst shooting nhl team in history which they clearly are not.)

The number of shots are irrelevant if they're of bad quality. A screened shot top corner is worth 30 unscreened muffins into the goalie's logo/ pads. They need quality shots.
