I love this message board. It so much better than orangeandblack.net or facebook...but...the trolling cannot be avoided anywhere you go unfortunately.

Things going good? Giroux is a great captain

Things going bad? Giroux is a terrible captain.

Rinse, Repeat. Most overrated concept eh.

PS--Disclaimer---Have not read through what all has been said, just figured this is what it was because, it usually is(always)

You nailed it. No other reading required.

For the record, let me state, I have a great time at the party boat, and don't let the behavior of one person ruin the party for the rest of us.

How does correctly acknowledging that Giroux struggles when his linemates are both struggling (this happens to guys who are primarily playmakers), or when his bottom six is so bad it makes him play a very, very defensive role for a 1C, prove anything you're arguing?

Wtf read the post.

You proved my one post right that YOUR bottom line is Giroux is being dragged by the team.

Never said it proved my argument right and certainly didn't agree with you.

OK, prove my point wrong then.

Prove that having to play an absurdly defensive role for a 1C with his offensive chops doesn't hamper him.

Prove that facing the best defenses the NHL can throw at him when his linemates aren't supporting him doesn't hamper him.

Go on, this ought to be fascinating, since it would fly in the face of common hockey knowledge.

Yeah, well, when was the last time he had a GWG in a clutch moment in a game where we clinched a playoff spot that wasn't 2011 or before? And that game against the Penguins doesn't count just because.

Did he not just score in OT a couple games ago in a must win game?

It was my birthday yesterday. Stayed up till 3 am UK time to watch that game. :(

I can't fathom how anyone can watch this team and imagine G is a weak link. It's like a climate change debate with someone arguing that trees are the problem.

You have completely ignored the fact Simmonds and Schenn are having their BEST YEAR TO DATE.

You have no ability to be objective.

Yeah, right.

First two are nice step up games that ultimately lead to little more than 2 pts.

Final two is the shift I referred to in my OP as the last shift in a big game he actually went out and controlled.

Thanks for posting the proof!

You are completely ignoring the fact that LATELY (In the specific time you're criticizing Giroux for), they have played in an underwhelming fashion. Last night especially, Giroux was the only reason that line was a threat.

The fact that they were good earlier in the season does nothing to change the fact that recently they have not been very good. Yet Giroux individually has been good. He is doing the best he can.

Maybe because they play will Giroux and he makes them better ;). The argument can be used either way.

All I'm saying is if you put Giroux on the Blackhawks he's better than Toews and arguably could have 3 cups and be considered the #2 C in the league next to Crysby. It's a team effort, but if G goes down we are done.

Statistically, yes, but THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY PLAY WELL EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Unless your argument is that only points matter when evaluating a player, in which case you just **** on your own anti-Giroux argument.

I am willing to bet that when we do win a cup people on here will be saying the things some player did not do and what to improve on. G is awesome. There is no question about that. Hey may have gotten another amazing goal tonight if he didn't get tripped.

If only we didn't have Simmonds (who is having his best yr to date) and Schenn (who is also having a very, very solid yr.

Yeah it's that damn bottom six. Guys sitting on the pine while Giroux is on the icing weighing him down.

Oh, you mean the two guys who have largely been playing poorly overall (with Giroux, to boot, thus dragging him down lately) during the stretch you're using to incorrectly crap on Giroux?

.

Simmonds for the month

G-6
A-1

Schenn for the month

G-1
A-2

Giroux for the month

G-0
A-2 (one was a secondary assist at that)

LOL brutal analysis bud. Bru-tal.
