Have you ever played defense?

Moore is the most at fault easily. He didn't even try and defend the play. He lazily skated over to the passer and allowed the guy to get the puck off easily. If you are going to play the passer, you at least have to make his life a bit difficult.

Sorry, but as bad as G and MSL were on that play, the onus is on Moore to at least attempt to play defense.

No. Missed pinches happen. Odd man rushes happen. Quite often.

The defender back has to make a choice to either play the passer or play the potential shooter. You almost always play the shooter and let your goalie deal with the guy who has the puck.

Moore didn't do either. He without-a-care skated over and just let the guy pass the puck right through him. That was just atrocious defense and should piss off anyone who ever played the position.

Good analysis. I agree. It is a very good observation. And I'm not being sarcastic.

Moore is usually poor defensively though. It did not surprise me much.

Exactly. I played a lot of defense when I played. I made that mistake once, was benched, and learned from it. Cannot believe a professional player would play that as bad as Moore did, there.
