I'm not thrilled with his positioning, but that was a failure of defense 101 by Moore, there. Hank should have played it better, but that defense actually makes me mad.

That was just atrocious. If you're going to stupidly play the passer, which was dumb to begin with, at least go down and take away the passing lane. Don't just lifelessly stick your stick out there and hope that the passer somehow hits your blade.

That was just God-awful defense that a high school kid could have played better.

Moore was about third on the list of screw ups on that play. Thats to say he wasn't even close to blame on that play. That nomination for St. Louis making a terrible play in offensive zone and a terrible pinch by Girardi.

Moore could have played that better in that he gave too much space.

No. Missed pinches happen. Odd man rushes happen. Quite often.

The defender back has to make a choice to either play the passer or play the potential shooter. You almost always play the shooter and let your goalie deal with the guy who has the puck.

Moore didn't do either. He without-a-care skated over and just let the guy pass the puck right through him. That was just atrocious defense and should piss off anyone who ever played the position.

Maybe he could've played it a little better but he was in a bad position. They weren't equally skating up the rink. They had all day to make a pass. If Moore rushed early, the pass was going to be made because of how far back the other player was.
