AV went from never changing his lines up now to doing it for no reason. Why is he putting Carcillo with Richards and MSL. That line has disaster written all over it. That's a great way to get MSL going, put a friggin goon on his line.

Agreed. Must be the elimination method; tried everything else to get MSL going. If every line has a personality, I'm really not sure what this is. Might be AVs mindgame with Tortarellos eternal matchup & juggling? If MSL & Carcillo combines for a goal early on, Torts will dismantle everything and everyone on his team trying to match up. And then self destruct.

Umm it's quite obvious the injury to Kreider has led to a lot of confusion and understandably so. We were thin at LW before Kreider got hurt, now we're incredibly thin.

Why does that line have disaster written all over it? Carcillo has been far from a goon in every game he has played for us. In fact, I actually liked him on the wing with nash and Step last game. I thought he was more effective then MSL there. It's not ideal but at the moment, we have to try things to get each line working.

I know you watch the games, but try to be a little objective at the very least.

Moore has the career offensive credentials and has played well enough of late to deserve a look. Obviously it isn't going to be Boyle they promote, because he can't score any more.

If it collapses the 4th line, then they can switch back.

Couldn't agree more. I liked him with Nash and step too. Carcillo's no game changer, but he's physical and plays solid, responsible defense. People know he's on the ice and if that takes a little of the focus off of the stars, that little bit of space could mean a lot. I see no problem putting him on these lines as long as he stays away from stupid penalties which he has.

At the end of the day, it sucks to have to use him in this position. But he's a good skater and does what he's told. Nash and MSL said specifically they don't like going to the front of the net and like setting up plays, that's why they didn't click together. If Carcillo is told hard to go to the net, then so be it.

He's not a top 6 player, but he's not completely unskilled and certainly isn't a ****ing goon.

We have an issue on LW, that was clear before Kreider even got injured and is only exacerbated wit him out. It's a make-shift position at this point which hopefully we address in the off-season. Playing guys on their off-wing hasn't worked (Zucc, MSL) and maybe this is the next best thing. Carcillo looked good against EDM. Giving him another go around is the smartest thing at this point.

Can't wait for this game to get started. Luckily I've got the Yankees season opener about to start and will carry right up until it's NYR time. LGR

So my directv genieGo is ****ing me. I'm traveling & need some help watching the game on an iPad.

I exaggerated when I called him a goon, but they guy probably has less skill than anyone in our top 12 when Kreider is healthy, as well as some guys in Hartford. I was pissed when Dorsett replaced him mostly due to chemistry and Dorsett's lack of discipline. Fast would be much better. The best place to put him is with Stepan and Nash if they are putting him in the top 9, because of the quality of play of the other guys and because Stepan and Nash play a similar game. MSL had problem when he had legit top 9ers on his line, what will he do now?

Including playoffs, this will be Derek Stepan's 326th consecutive NHL game without missing one due to injury. I believe that is longer ever than the Girardi streak.

He's taken some hard hits too. He's looked really good lately, and on top of a super defensive game, has really turned up the offense. He is a guy that seems to really thrive on this puck possession system and has been playing like the top center we need.

I'm not saying it hasn't been a disappointing season, but I think his performance will always be underrated because it isn't flashy, just like a guy like Zherdev's will be overrated because he was.
