Also Shelly is an idiot. There's a provision in the CBA to allow a roster emergency exception if the Pens have less than 650,000 in cap space and play 1 game with 18 skaters. After that game, they can recall a skater (think their AAV needs to be under 650,000 so Harrington) for the duration of Letang's or Ehrhoff's injuries.

The Pens can get a 6th defender for the Flyers game.

If the Pens have more than 650,000 in cap space then they have space to recall Harrington without the emergency exception.
