by no means do I think we are playing great, and as others have said hank has been great over a number of games. but god damn! for the money he makes we need him to come through. If he does not let in another in the third we win this game.

They aren't, but at some point the goalie is going to have to take some blame. When you are paid as the highest goalie in the league, sometimes you need to cover up the mistakes of your defenseman. Four goals against Calgary is unacceptable.

A few hiccups are excusable. Being pinned in that fashion with them running around like chickens with their heads cut off is not.

The 4th goal is inexcusable, but at the same time, you needed those other 3 to get that 4th one.

Utter team collapse in the back end. If they lose, they lose. Put Talbot in against Edmonton.

Yup, and he's having a good game. That was the only shot he absolutely should have had. He made tons of TOUGH saves early on. Without those, this game would already be over.

Game is not on Hank, but c'mon, you can't claim every non routine save the guy makes as being game savers. If this was the case Ramo would be getting inducted into the HOF right now.

Sometimes? He covers up his defense men's mistakes almost all of the time. You are talking about Henrik Lundqvist, right?

He's been mediocre all year compared to his usual standards. I'm speaking the truth. I know all the Hank fans are going to gang up on me now.

I wouldn't say the Hank fans are going to gang up on you on this one. More like, anyone who is capable of seeing with eyes. They're the ones that are going to gang up on you. He's having an off-night and he started slow, but he's still among the best in the league.

I felt that he shouldn't even have been able to get the shot off.
Dan didn't seem to press him enough.

Uh, no. He was played perfectly to the outside. It was textbook defense. Let him take that shot. It's a low percentage shot that just about any NHL goalie should save.

Hank straight up wiffed on it.

Let's not get into semantics here. Hank should have had it, win the period, win the game for the 6 game win streak. This is going to be a Nash coming out party in the third. Let's do it.

TONS?

He only has 22 shots against. How many TOUGH saves = "tons" for you? 4?

Well it hasn't been his toughest game but you can't look at hot totals to prove that. He could have only faced 10 shots so far but if they're all breakaways, back door plays and 3-0's then the fact that it was only 10 shots wouldn't be quite the same as 10 slap shots from the red line.

Did you hear what Anson Carter just said? I hope so.

It seems that the inexplicable hate for the best goalie in the world has created some comparatively blind people in denial. Hank is having a bad game, it's ok to say so. He's still the best goalie in the world, but he's having a bad game.

I don't have to look at shot totals. He hasn't had to be amazing tonight. We should be wining this game by a couple of goals.

I posted that because nevesis wrote TONS of saves. He hasn't had to make TONS of great saves.

Please. Don't judge a team by where they are in the standings. Calgary is a very hard working team, if you pencil them in as a win before te game, they're going to beat you.

There's so much parity in this league, you can't take any opponent for granted. The worst team in the league can beat the best team in the league. If the team plays flat, anything can happen. They're all NHL players.

Hank is having an off night. That's it. Stop trying to make it seem like he's not worth his contract because if this game.

Looking past the standings, the Rangers have dominated this game offensively. Almost all of the puck possession, more shots and most importantly a lot more quality scoring chances. Hank has had very little to do in this game. There was a stretch for a minute in the second period where Calgary looked like a threat, but they've been totally outplayed the rest of the game offensively. They've capitalized on defensive mistakes and a goalie who's not playing as well as he should be playing.

I've said all season that Hank hasn't been up to his usual standards. This game has not shifted my opinion on Hank's season. I've been saying it all season.

We still could win it by a couple goals, if Marty St. Louis and Rick Nash ever decide to show up.
