I definitely understand that, it's just that personally the Hammburglar and the Senators is one of my favorite hockey stories this year and I'd like to see them sneak in there. Not to mention I'd rather the Rangers play them over the Bruins, I'm scared of Rask. Also should they matchup against Montreal they are more than a legitimate threat to eliminate them IMO.

Its more like if they get in, displace Boston, and are able to play against MTL in the 1st round, we'll never have to deal with the Kreider-haters ever again... and all will be about how Chiasson and Karlsson suck ass blah blah blah...

this is more for our sanity than anything else

lol A.V.

"I can't explain why we sucked, but who cares, let's just forget about it."

I hope he doesn't have the same attitude with the players. They better have watched that tape 100 times!

8-2-1 in March.

I'm not having the guys watch that tape.

It's not indicative of how the team has played for the most part.

burn it and move on.

The Sens are meh to me. Don't hate them, don't really like them.

Don't care if they make the PO's.

but the old school mentality in me says I'd prefer to beat them in regulation time giving them nothing and making it harder for them to get into the PO's.

I feel like sports has lost that "playing spoiler" mentality. Back in the 80's teams didn't dress younger players as the season wore down to see what they had to offer. They played their best roster to play spoiler and completely disrupt the playoff teams and seedings.

The thought and approach is that if you are not going to be IN the playoffs, then at the very least you can help shape what the first round is going to look like.

Also, teams that were pretty much assured a spot always made sure that they stomped out those bubble teams. Those bubble teams are more often than not the most dangerous 1st round opponents.

We'd be smart to make sure we take this in regulation. It may could come back to haunt us otherwise.

Its one thing to neutralize kreiders speed on a rush its another to neutralize a guy like Nash who has more than two moves and can work in the zone

I know, but Kreider is so fast that it stood out to me. I had never seen a defenseman capable of matching Kreids' foot speed and acceleration before Karlsson. It caught my attention. He made CK irrelevant.

He also did a good job in his own zone from what I can remember.

All in favor of giving the Sens a point say "I".

"I" as long as you only mean 1 point and not 2 because well see my next response

Mine too, but I still will root for them to lose outright when we are playing them.

With the run that Ottawa is on I would be totally fine with a great 1-0 OT Win for the Rangers I want the Rangers to win of course but if it went to OT I would not be angry.. I would be disappointed if they lose tho

Literally the only thing I care about is seeing the Rangers play well and win.

This isn't a charity. I want to win, and I want Ottawa to lose.

enough of this, "id be okay if they got a point" crap

Thats a losers mentality

Not really... if we were saying "We hope the Rangers can squeak out a point" that is a losers mentality...

Well he wasn't wholly irrelevant, Kreider DID score the tying goal in the 3rd period.

Hmmm, I'm trying to think if there's a way to say this without sounding negative, but I don't think there is.

This Ottawa team is on a mission right now and they are tearing teams apart. They are the hottest team with hottest goalie in the league by far.

We have Nash in full ghost mode and McD playing like trash. I don't think there's any way we are winning this one.

All that said, I seriously hope I'm wrong, they've surprised me before! LGR!!

Just a note: the Kreider-Stepan-Nash line has a CF% of 33.0 and CF close% of 36.1 since they've been put back together. Es no bueno.

Kreider Stepan Nash wasnt very good last year either... They were a line that solely relied on the rush to score. Not much possession or in zone play.

Let's go Rangers!!!!

Rangers can clinch tonight: "The Rangers, who lead the Metropolitan Division with 99 points, can clinch a spot if they defeat the Ottawa Senators (7:30 p.m. ET; MSG+, RDS2, TSN5) and the Ducks defeat the Bruins in any fashion.

New York also would clinch a spot with one point against Ottawa combined with an Anaheim regulation win against Boston.

Let's win this one in OT though, need Ottawa to stay in!
