Post-Game Talk: 7 Goals, 0 Drai Points = Me So Sad

Still, his defensive numbers are bad. Seems like a placeholder player to me. Stecher also looked good but I bet the team would prefer to use Emberson or Klingberg if one of them could step up and take the gig.

At forward, Jones might be another one on the way out if everyone were healthy
Make no bones. Kap has to score if he wants to stay. he at least was desperate and doing lot to get opportunities. We need some of these players off the snide.

I agree, but I wonder if Draisaitl sustained something last night that will keep him out for several games, and the team knew that. As a result, maybe they were trying to get him to his milestone before he sits out a number of games? Hopefully that's just the pessimist in me.
This is what I expressed last night. Seemed like the club was really trying to get him to the 50 goals before the injury started swelling up. Seemed like that kind of situation where he might miss some games. The talks on the bench with Perry, then the athletic therapist, and then with the staff to KK, obvious something was up.

f*** the Utah team seriously to dedicating all their player resources to stopping Drai. 4 players defending Drai on that last pk. jebus. You have 4 players on ice and they're all checking injured Drai. Get a life! ;)

the last thing other teams in the west and league want to see is hyman/nuge starting to heat up. its way easier to focus your game on shutting down 97/29 as best you can. if those guys are going then you have a lot of issues to deal with defensively

the other thing, even during the slumping games thats stood out if is the PK is back to awesome, like last year in the playoffs. lets guys like frederic and kane play their physical brand and not worried about going over the edge once in a while cause the PK is elite. on the flip side you can reply on the PK to bail you out, then the other team does something stupid and the 97/29/18/2/93 unit comes out and send you packing

I thought Kapanen had a lot of jump last night and making some plays. That sweep around the D for the breakaway was also speed, anticipation, protecting puck well and he just burned them. On pk and making other plays up ice too. Nothing going and his finishing has been bad. Seems like a player that could bag some goals if he got one.

I don’t mind Kapanen. He brings some speed. My response was more who I think the coaching staff will take out when Frederic out.

I’d probably sit Janmark out personally. I have liked the player in the past. He hasn’t been quite the same this year. Negative offense. Hasn’t been a rock defensively like in the past.

Knobblauch said he will ride the lines for now moving forward. Personally I think he really found something in terms of balance. just hope it doesn’t go in a blender too soon.

Except Drai has to carry 2 slugs while he is injured. Not a great look for a top 6 line.

Good. More of this.

Having key players injured/gassed deeper in the playoffs has been an issue for us every year and it will be especially so this year. Keep them all fresh.
But also it's concerning that we're a month away from the playoffs and everybody is already banged up enough to need maintenance days. Already not going to go into the playoffs healthy.
