I agree. I just dont understand why he is getting fed top minutes while he us sucking

See, there's one. Flip DOC and EROD. Try something to spark them. It's not like this is some offensive juggernaut where lines and combinations have a history of producing.

EDIT: Unless it's a line or combination with ZAR, in which case there's actually a history of producing, albeit not a positive one.

I agree, but I think the issue isn't spark, it's finish.

Seems like shuffling chairs on the titanic.

This team is literally down over $30 million in players. Going with a slightly different lineup than they have now won't make a difference. There are just going to be some nights like this when so many of their top guys are hurt. That's not "the coach isn't doing enough to win!", it's that consistently winning with this caliber of roster isn't going to happen.

So, then you're saying critiquing a coach for not trying to replace something that isn't working with something that likely won't work is taboo.

Agree to disagree on that one.

It blows my mind that TB is one of your top 4 centers yet he cant crack the top two lines when every other center is out.

Was Kapanen flipped to L2 or was the last change from L1 and stayed on given where the play was?

DeSmith has been mostly fine from what I've seen tonight, but I still get this feeling that they'll need to get someone better than him before the deadline.

You could say the same of Jarry. This goaltending is still going to majorly hold us back in the playoffs unless they get randomly hot. Jarry has been fine so far this year don't get me wrong. But I think that's mainly because the Pens are doing a pretty terrific job of insulating him. The two games where they did give up actual high danger chances (Fla/TB) he got predictably scored on repeatedly. The other games he was fine but the Pens also didn't really give up shit for chances those games.

In the playoffs the other teams are too good. They're gonna get spurts of tilting the ice against us. And if we don't have goaltending that can hold the fort during that we're f***ed.

Maybe they should be tried with our third best center instead of stop gap
Sure, blender it up. Maybe it's a case of them being held back by E-Rod, who has been playing really well thus far. But maybe it's a case of Jake being a remora and Kap just kinda being a fast, squirrely player and not much else.

Doc has the right idea. Skate it to the middle and shoot while the goalie is screened by 2 or 3 bodies. Much better than poor angle unscreened shots from 20 feet out.
