Ah yes, Sutter’s old Kings crony. Once upon a time, I really wanted Trevor Lewis as our 4C.

I shudder at the memory.

He may have been fairly good during the regular season last year, but Jake was a passenger (and a perimeter guy) with Sid, not the co-pilot he once was with Sid (and then Geno).
He should be with Geno, you’ve seen my incessant posts about this. But with Sid & Geno both out, not much to really discuss. Jake is missing Rust a ton right now, as I’ve stated in the past, Jake has the most chemistry on the team with Rust and then as far as centres go, it’s Geno over Sid with statistical and eye test proof.

So many here are still in love with the Sullivan of 2015-2017 that they don’t see what’s been happening.

A team missing so many and he has blokes up, but won’t use them to give any of those playing well above their usual minutes, a rest. Ride them into the dirt, Mike Tomlin standard is the standard style.

I'm not seeing many people not being critical of Jake tbh.
No, I meant I've been critical of Jake, and have been more than open to exploring hockey trades for the guy. Pretty sick of him, to be honest, and don't think he's the player everyone remembers from 2017 and 2018 anymore, and probably won't ever be again.

I don’t see Jake Guentzel as untouchable, if anything I think he’s the perfect trade bait at the draft to land things we need to retool and rebuild with whatever sliver of window we have open.
I think we're beyond the event horizon as far as a big hockey trade to pull the team out of the tailspin goes, so I don't really care anymore. I'd be fine holding onto him until the summer after we inevitably flame out again in the 1st or 2nd round and using him to get a boon of futures to kickstart the rebuild.

Don't think this team has any runs left in the tank.

Yes, but I'm not sure how THIS Jake looks with Geno. Old Jake? Sign me up. This Jake? I'm not sure it's the hot tub time machine scenario a lot of us (me included at times) perhaps assume it would be.

It’s why I would sit him. No one should be exempt from being in the press box for being as bad as Jake has been for as long as he has been this season.

There are hungrier players that will bring more of an effort that can infect the line-up in positive ways.

Yeah I pretty much agree with that. He isn't made for this era's playoff structure.
