It was but the Rangers couldn't do anything against Markstrom. I can't believe how much worse this team is offensively this year. They sucked last year early on too but Mika had Covid, I'm hoping they pick up this year and sooner than last year.

The only thing that worries me is if we would really need a system coach, not an attitude coach like Gallant. That said, I thought Gallant was one of the better options to hire anyway so...

Anyways, with a new coach you need to give it a number of games more. The fact is, if Panarin and Zib were actually performing at like 85%, we would have at least a goal so far.

My tin foil hat consipiracy theory is that the coach that should have been before Gallant was one that taught the youngins a solid structure. Then they get Gallant and get the freedom to tweak as need be. I don't think the top six knows what to do structurally and it shows. They are trying to play off each other, but this is the NHL. You need to know structurally and positionally what is going to happen. Action is always faster than reaction.

Yeah I'm okay giving him a few more games to settle in, but if he doesn't soon he really needs to go down and learn the NA game in the AHL. Jones can handle it right now, even playing the right.
