These are the perfect lines when everyone is healthy imo. When Panarin and Mika are on their games this gives them 3 lines that can score. Goodrow also fills the fast role pretty well and Kakko on the first line also gives them the line driver mika needs while putting Kreider in his natural position.

It sure does not look like this team is on the cusp of having enough long term talent to win Cups.

It does not at all. And lets be real, we locked in a core of Zibanejad, Kreider, Trouba, Panarin for 30M dollars between them for the forseeable future. Does anyone actually believe at this point this group is going to lead a team to a stanley cup? Not to mention two disappointing top 2 picks. I know Kakko had such an amazing year last year, yet he still scored at the rate of a borderline 3rd liner. Lets see him actually produce. Lafreniere has been non-existent more often than not and even when he gets on the scoresheet it's a tap in or a two foot secondary assist. When was the last time he set someone up for a quality look? he has 10 f***ing assists in his career. I'm tired of the rationalizations.

I think Panarin needs to play more selfishly. He's trying too many low percentage passes. There was one sequence where he was just skating loops around Flames. Do that. Open up yourself for a scoring opportunity. Stop forcing passes.

Please let Hunt skate with Kakko. Please reunite Laf with Blais and Chytil. I think Gallant sees this already when he flipped him and Gauthier in the lines

The cycle game with this squad is so lacking. Hunt with Kakko yes, but who centers them then? Zib? Might as well play Kreider - Zib - Kakko then. Chytil isn't good enough to play with Panarin and Kakko. Strome doesn't cycle, he's good in the offensive zone with the puck on his stick but outside that not so much. Panarin is just not right atm and Kakko gets too much on his plate if he plays with Panarin and Strome if they are allowed to float.Laf-Chytil-Blais do have a pulse.

Laf just doesn't know where to go when he plays with Zib and Kreider, with Blais and Chytil he can at least move through the neutral zone with a bit of speed.

And Nemeth - Lundkvist is just brutal - Smith Hajek dejavu.

He was a terrible loss there's no doubt about it. Having he and Fox on the ice as often as we did was part of the reason Panarin was so dynamic too. ADA would jump into the rush or jump into seams in the offensive zone and create tons of quality looks. He moved a ton which forced whoever was on the ice with him to move too. He also played with a pace that no one on this team does. Not without his warts defensively but it's no surprise this team is much worse offensively.

We just played a great first 6 games. Compared to last years 2-7 start this is night and day. 4-2-1 after a hell of a road trip? I mean cmon guys they are fine. We’d be exhausted too with the schedule they just had, give them a break, they will come out flying on Thursday.

I think the panic coming in is the lack of production from our top talent, particularly Panarin, who only looked like himself sporadically tonight (but still improved over the last few games).

I don't really think we can win without our best players playing like they deserve their contracts. At least Trouba looked good tonight.
