Team is not playing well but at least they have a pulse.

Zib, Panarin, Lafreniere all huge disappointments. Oh and cant forget Chytil, but really dont expect much from that giant turd.

Hunt has been good again. Goodrow, Blais solid. Kreider doing Kreider. And even Gauthier has been very physical.

But this team goes nowhere without Panarin/Zib

The only thing that worries me is if we would really need a system coach, not an attitude coach like Gallant. That said, I thought Gallant was one of the better options to hire anyway so...

Anyways, with a new coach you need to give it a number of games more. The fact is, if Panarin and Zib were actually performing at like 85%, we would have at least a goal so far.
True but what we're asking them to do is basic.

If I see Zib or Panarin do one more backhand fling across the ice, I'm going down there.

Zib is 230 pounds and Panarin has three hands. f***ing carry it.

agreed but i do think Gallant thinks highly of him, has said how it was "tough to lose a top player" with no hesitation multiple times. Hopefully he comes back strong on Friday.
what upsets me is that kakko was finally going to get a look on the PP with Strome out and he got hurt. strome back on the PP makes me wanna throw up. Ideally Kakko should be getting used to that position now. At this point I dont know if its a strategy by management to limit the point totals with their new contracts coming. Otherwise it literally makes no sense.

Bread dipsy doodling is fun at all but could he create some offense ffs. Shoot the puck or pass the guys who will shoot. Again the need to do things quicker for this team is apparent, yet rarely do we see players 1 time or shoot off passes at all. Like you see it in how players receive pucks poorly in shooting spots, seems as if they are already deliberating what move they will do off the pass instead of just shooting.

I’m sorry but Lundkvist stinks. Should at minimum be a threat offensively. He can’t make a clean pass. I mean ever. He has ZERO business being here over Jones who might actually help us with some offense

I thought he was much closer to nhl ready but he looks terrible. Tim Erixon looked better

I dont see any hope from Laf. He is just to slow for the NHL and this new season I have not seen any improvement. His IQ may be high but hes just one step behind. He loses 1 on 1 battles. Kakko I have far more hope for.

Yea, I just don't think we could ignore the lack of offensive zone and neutral zone play at this point. Way too many red flags. I'm not even talking about lack of chemistry. The team should be able to string a couple of passes together, this is the national hockey league. I think that because Gallant is passive and lets the players kinda run the train, and Quinn never really taught them how to run an effective offensive zone scheme, they just have no idea what to do. Would have been nice if the previous coach was a structural coach.

These guys have been playing hockey for over 15 years. They don't need to be taught like children how to utilize an offensive zone scheme.

They're being outplayed. It happens.

Cue some Devils fan on Main Board: "Are the Rangers the worst 4-1-1 team in history?"

. Oh brother. Posts like these make my head hurt

That was actually a good period but people will whine.
was better but wonder how much of that is a product of the Flames being up by 2 and just "sitting Back"
Would have been nice to do that in the first before the 8 or 9 grade A scoring chances they had to basically our 1

I’m not saying he didn’t do anything dumb either but it’s an objective fact that we lost a skilled prospect who’s an excellent skater & 95+% of us would’ve had him in our roster out of camp regardless of how much they try to cope and justify Drury’s decisions

The Rangers didn't lose him. He took his ball and ran to mommy.
