Casuals on facebook mad because he has to develop and not play in the NHL most likely next year.

Our casual fans are extremely stupid.

Would they rather want Barzal who will take 5 years to become physically mature enough to even be effective in the league?

one would hope hahaa. Dude seems really enthusiastic about being a Devil so I love it.

facebook fans are the worst for everything.

Yeah, after I saw his postdraft interview I got a really good feeling about him. Seems like a person with his feet planted well on the ground. And he has the ability to take advice from people who knows more about hockey. Like the Petr Nedved story.

Not that it's best for his development, but would he be AHL eligible as a European? Julius Honka was able to play in the AHL this year. Right out of his draft year, and he played his draft year in the CHL.

Not that I would do that. We handled Bergfors that way. He was the first under-20 player to play in the AHL after they made that rule, I believe.

People kind of knocked the kid for a while because his family like groomed him to play hockey. Limiting school and such things. I did wonder about that but after watching that interview i am no longer worried about that at all.

Im also glad he will get some time in camp with Elias i think that could really help him.

So Zacha is eligible for the AHL next year? What would everyone prefer: him going back to Sarnia or him going to the AHL next year?

him playing in the NHL. he can do it. Behind Eichel and McDavid for ability to convert to the NHL has to be Zacha by sheer size and skating ability. Dont forget he is physical.

That is tough, but I might prefer the AHL because I don't know if Sarnia is going to help teach him what he needs to learn to fill his game out and become the complete player we NEED him to be.

He is so important to our future I kind of want us to have more direct control of his development.

Then again I wouldn't lose sleep if he went back to juniors.

He needs more cooking though. He should not play more then 5 NHL games next year. There are holes in his game that he needs to learn. Rushing him won't do him any favors.

I'd say send him back to Sarnia. Let him get (hopefully) a full season in down there. Then see where he is a year from now.

He needs to learn how to take better routes to the puck and contribute to a possession and attacking game outside of the rush.

He can do it, but he needs some time to do it and the NHL most likely is not the best place to do it.

No no no no...

Who are we now? The Florida Panthers?

I think Zacha should go back to OHL. Spend another year there and then at least 1 year in AHL. Give him a cup of coffee if he performs well in AHL in his first year.

Some people on instagram we're like. "But we need someone who can shoot, and can score goals" I was like that's what he does, he's not Scott Gomez
People who act like they know what they are talking about but are wrong are the worst type of people

Seriously? That is exactly what this kid does. Shoot the puck.

Barzal was the one who passes like Gomez. Good god people are stupid.
