@Beef Invictus this is game 66. They've played 65 up to this point. FYI.
Over the last 10 games, the team as a whole has been shitty offensively, while being awesome defensively. Both their rolling averages for xGF and xGA/60 have dropped over that span. In other words, this team is not producing scoring chances, and are also preventing score chances against.
This is pure speculation, but since they are in a playoff push, I have to imagine that Torts is gonna push what he does best; defensive play. In some of his pressers, Torts has talks about recalibrating when the team 'turns back' (his term he uses to identify when forwards should aggressively pressure on forecheck, and when they should 'turn back' to the backcheck and establish positioning in the NZ). I would guess that the focus from the coaching staff right now is an earlier turn back and setup in the NZ, and I think that has a negative affect on scoring opportunities for everyone. From my eye, that feels like what's been happening lately as well.
I know I'm a Frost guy, and I know I have a certain bias here. I acknowledge he has not been strong offensively over the last 10 games (his defensive numbers have been pretty consistent however). But I also think it's a bit unfair to specifically call out Frost when the entire team has not been good at generating changes as a whole over the last 10 game.
