I feel Lundqvist tuned them up

He went from locker to locker, telling the individual in front of the first locker, "Eff You," then the second locker, "Eff You," and so on, making the full round before storming off to the bathroom.

I feel like they need one last draft where they really come away with some intrigue. On a personal level, I’m okay with 2020 being that draft.

Unfortunately, part of that plan involves moving Kreider.

I'm OK with it as well but then I look at the Trouba, Panarin acquisitions and have to question what exactly the game plan really is.
Maybe with JD's influence, that may broaden the trade venue but I think moving Kreider as far as JG is concerned becomes all too predictable at this point.
JG, in typical lawyer mode, waits until the very last second and hopefully a trade works out.
Either way I think Kreider is a goner IMO

Anyone know why Quinn twice put out our PP2 after a TV timeout instead of the top unit?

Makes 0 sense, they looked good on the first PP. Kind of inexcusable considering we (somehow) have Howden and Lemieux on the second unit

In a different world, with different parameters, I’d like him slotting into the second line beyond this season.
It is only six games. Still, he looks toast with no finishing touch to speak of.

Punishment bruh. Same punishment he gave Lemieux sitting him against NJ.

There’s a lot I’m disliking about some of Quinn’s decisions, but to his credit he doesn’t have a lot to work with. And he won’t until our kids develop into better NHL players which will take some time.

As far as the kids go, they have all the time in the world and shouldn't be rushed IMO.

My main issue is that you have to play the cards you're dealt and DQ really sucks at it.

There's really no special formula to this and it's been going on since the beginning of time.

Put a system in place that benefits wtf is going on with the team in front of you.
It doesn't matter if they're lacking in certain areas, whether that's a young team, lack of skill..Whatever..
Those are the pains you deal with moving FWD but until the final pieces are in place and you can really compete, you have create a system and environment that paves the way to how this team is going to have success in the future.

That begins with the FUNDAMENTALS..
Put a f***ing system in place that the team can "actually play" and be some what successful at, then advance from there as you add pieces..grit, skill..etc

I'm all about earning things but feel like DQ is killing the confidence of some of these kids and creating an environment where you have to walk on eggshells and it's only going to bring moral down.
Meanwhile it's all due to a lot of the nonsensical decisions he has made.
That may work with some vets but not so much with the younger players.
Players are regressing...

In game adjustments.
Line chemistry
Creating lines that support one another
Playing in 5 man units
Having your team prepared to play 60 mins
Match ups
I could go on and on and on...

Add to that, JG just sits back and allows this garbage to continue.
He did the same with allowing AV to screw everything up for years past his expiration date..When does it end?

I'm a patient dude but enough of the stupidity already..

OK rant over lol

It's possible, my memory is wrong, but I seem to think Quinn did a better job last year of identifying players who were playing in a certain game and playing them more. This season, he's so consumed with chemistry, he's not riding the players who are playing best in a given game. Buch needed more ice. Fox needed more ice. Andersson in other games deserved more ice. It's not quite happening. I feel like Quinn is opting for pre-conceived notions of his players than what they're doing in game. Again, I could be wrong. But I find myself getting more frustrated this season by his in game usage. Not doing a good enough getting his more effective players out there in a given game. I think this is the kind of reward structure that could also help the kids grow quicker. We'll see.

Post game interview with DQ said the pp1 guys were tired to start the powerplays.

I feel as if he's punishing certain players for not taking over certain positions in the line up even though they're still too young and just not ready for roles on an NHL team yet..

I’m not in total disagreement here.

We have a lot young new faces on a team that’s played fewer games than any other team in the league thus far. It’s hard to get going.

I think a lot of this mess can be credited to what transpired in preseason. Instead of playing guys and trying to get them to gel, we had a circus composed of AHL’ers getting “A Shot”. It was a waste of time.

I think we need to give this team more time before we really know where we’re at. We’re only 6 games in.

Even under the best of circumstances I’ve always felt this season was close to landing a top pick than a playoff berth.

Having said that, just when people start to adjust their expectations is when this team will likely get hot. It will then manage to infuriate the crowd eyeing a high pick, and eventually the people who get pumped back up again by the dream of making the playoffs.
Sound like someone’s who seen this before. Ha
Well done

It looks like a promising #center draft next summer in 2020 our 4 loss. ;)
I don`t know why we can't be more competitive with the Trouba, Panarin, Fox signings, and we drafted Kakko who are supppose to be a god gifted hockey player? :)

:
Well we looked like a hockey team for a period so that's promising

'It remind me too much of last season - maybe they work too hard in practice - pre season so no juice in a 60 minutes hockey game.

I also agree with what you're saying but at the same time, training camp was a month and a half ago and nearly every other team has cemented their full line up for PS games and here he is still dicking around with line juggling and D pairs @ game #6.

I understand tweaks are to be made but he makes all the wrong ones.
Wtf is going on already lol

Edit: Screwed this up on mobile

If they can play whole games the way they played that third, they can beat 80% of the teams in this league.

No idea what happened that period but it was night and day.

Fast was excellent today also.
Not too be "that guy" but the Canucks were playing 3 games in 4 nights on a different time zone while our coach was constantly playing our garbage 4th line.

I think it was a combination of good play from the Rangers and bad play from the Canucks.

While I'm here I'll say I love the direction of your team and think you have arguably the most knowledgeable fan base on HF

I've said the same thing since the first lockout. You can't just bring in players and plug them into any system. Nearly all teams have a system in place or have an idea of the system they want to play. They then draft/acquire players needed to play IN THAT SYSTEM, then fill in "holes" as needed.

I think we have a basic idea of what type of system Quinn wants them to play...but ask yourselves this: how many of the players on this roster are really capable of that style of play on a consistent basis? I would venture to say less than half the roster.

Quinn made an interesting comment recently....he said something to the effect that the players seem to want to play an east-west game (leaning toward skill) but you can't do that successfully until you are successful playing north-south.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens in the next draft. If I remember correctly, JD did bring some of his scouts with him. If he continues as before, we will a change in the type of players the Rangers draft going forward.
