It is not Fast that this team is really missing. And it's not Stepan either. It is actually Lindberg and the role he played. For all the good Gorton did this offseason not finding an appropriate replacement for Lindberg is what's hurting the Rangers right now the most. When DD was signed I didn't really believe he was brought to be a regular, not the 13th guy. Thought there will be another move this offseason.

Other 2 forth line forwards are also very underwhelming so far and should be out of the lineup as well.
 
So after tonight DeAngelo will have played half of the available games since training camp opened.
Seems like an excellent way to manage an about to turn 22 year old D-man who is adjusting to a new team and defensive structure....

Lindberg wasn't on the team the start of last season either, and they still had a good start.
 
The team isn't hurt by the loss of their top center but they are hurt by the loss of their fourth line center?

Zibanejad replaced Stepan or his role as a top two way center just fine. Who replaced Lindberg 's checking center role?
 
Wasn't expecting Fast to return tonight but glad his ears were ringing from our talk about him on here lol
 
Not only center vs wing in this decision. Carey took way too many penalties for my liking.
 
I have not been a huge fan of Cracknell's game so far, but I'd be fine with either he or Carey sitting.

That said, cap concerns, I know. I would've tried to give a 3rd to keep Lindberg.
 
I think we win this game, I'm going to start getting concerned here eventually if we don't.

NYR had a really rough start to one season since the lockout, don't remember which one, but they bounced back from it. Right now it's the forward corps that are the big question mark, which I'm not sure too many people expected.

I hope they find a way to get ADA back in soon and try to redeem the trainwreck that is the 2nd PP unit.
 
I hope they take another step forward in playing more in tune with each other. A bit of that last game, but they need to get more involved. There was an awful lot of watching the Bluejackets pretty skating and passing last game.
Get up for the game (a game is 60 minutes, so with baby steps lets hit 40 minutes tonight) please, Rangers. You will find it more enjoyable. Knock a Devil down when the time is right, let them know you are there.
