Not being on the scoresheet and taking games off are two different things.

Not for Kreider they aren't, effort equals points for him, he doesnt have the god given skill that Panarin has to coast and still produce. When he isn't engaged and skating the points suffer.

Well he gets a lot of points in front of the net on the power play too- it’s the only way he scores when he isn’t playing hard

Going to have to agree to disagree. The effort is not generally the problem. The inconsistency in getting on the scoresheet is just who he is.

You can tell the difference when he's on, he's carrying the puck in or chipping and chasing it. Right now he's doing that east west move before he gets into their end, its not his game and maybe he's just overthinking it i dunno.

Right now, all the vet forwards are an issue. With Kreider, I do not think it is effort. Who knows? Could be you are right and he is just overthinking it.

I really dont think we are in a bad spot, if the top guys get going i think we'll be really hard to beat because we've improved in areas that were a problem last year outside of faceoffs.

That and just regular goalie play, not even standing on their heads, would help.

sorry brother but no kakko was not the prospect lafreniere was coming into their rookie seasons. Just wasn’t. Should he be more prepared because he was playing pro ok that’s fine. But on talent level no kakko is not on lafreniere’s level and neither is Hughes. You’d never know it watching him play right now though.
Talent alone is a separate argument. You were making the point that Laf was different from Hughes and Kakko because he played Junior and because of that should be performing better than them. That is why I bolded that statement specifically. If we want to talk about who was more talented going into the league that is a different argument. And I just want to point out, that I agree that should Lafreniere should be having a better rookie than the both of them. But my opinion on that has nothing to do with him playing in Juniors.

I should not have to compile a dissertation on why Quinn is bad as a NHL coach. It is self evident.

His personnel choices ( starting line up+PP+PK )
+ his system ( transition, zone entry, forecheck structure, special teams etc )
+ the teams readiness ( level of sharpness in fundamentals )
= these results.

I explained this all already.

Maybe we just need more time but a good coach doesn't need half the season for his team to start playing like a cohesive unit.
You forgot the waterboy and laundry guy.

thats not at all the argument I was making I have always said he is a way better prospect than those two regardless of league I’m obviously talking about talent wise. You brought up kakko playing pro not me
