McPhee was in an advisory role to Snow when we last made the playoffs. Everyone said he was clueless and Vegas would never be any good with him as the GM.
Yep. McPhee was worse than Snow. Gallant was worse than Weight and Capuano...

They'll end up extending it until August at this point. They'll be desperate to get anybody to buy season tix
I have nothing to base this on other than my interactions with ticket reps, but I get the feeling that they’re desperate.

It's too late. They wanted an answer from us in January and now we're on the hook.

I'm just not sure why anyone would buy season tickets to the Islanders these days unless they just love hockey and don't care how the Isles ultimately do.

Basically I would not even consider buying a ticket plan until Snow is gone. Even if JT resigned, Snow still has to go. This is my order of preference:
1) JT signs, Snow gone
2) JT doesnt sign, Snow gone
3) JT signs, Snow still here
4) JT doesnt sign, Snow still here

If #4 happens, I honestly do not know how a single person could still commit money and time to a ticket plan. Will all of us maybe attend a game or two, probably at the Coliseum, just because we like the sport? Maybe. But if #4 happens, you must have thousands of disposable dollars, just not care about money or have nothing else to do in life if you buy anything more than some mini plan.

I bought season tickets when they moved to Barclays, because I've always wanted them but couldn't afford them back when I lived on LI (I was a kid), because it wasn't worth it to me to buy them when they played in Nassau when I finally could afford them (I don't own a car), because I finally would be able to attend the majority of the games, and because there was actually the prospect of them being a competitive team after the move (we did get that one playoff win after all!).

But now, after 25 years of ineptitude and yet another looming rebuild, I want out. I don't want to rehash my reasons for this as I've said them enough on these boards, but unfortunately for me I'm on the hook for next year's tickets whether I choose to continue following the team or not.

I love hockey and I do care how the Isles do.

I’m not big on telling people how to spend their money but I don’t blame anyone who wants to voice their displeasure about the Islanders with their wallets.

If #4 happens Im out until things change. I live and die with this team for the past 35 years. f*** them if that happens. It'll be more time to spend with my family and kids without these assholes ruining the day. FTT.

Yup - the narrative was "McPhee is horrible because he traded Forsberg for Erat".

Respect.

I guess I look at it like this...A season ticket holder is paying seriously good money to watch a subpar product. Respect to anyone who can sit through the way the Isles have been playing the past few years, but I wouldn't be able to.

I grew a thicker skin and shake off the losses real fast.

I don't think I've ever met a more dedicated Islander (and hockey) fan (both in person and virtually) than MJF. The guy's had seasons forever and also travels to see the team in Philly, NJ, etc. And goes to Sound Tigers games to keep tabs on the prospects. And I think he takes in the occasional non-Islander NHL game as well. There's a man that loves watching hockey.

Yes, they were supposed to make the playoffs this season. They lost out on a playoff spot by one point and were playing with one goaltender.

A team with Tavares and Barzal as your #1 and #2 centers should not be missing the playoffs. Practically every coach in the league would kill for this teams top-6, and they would not be missing the playoffs if they had those players at their disposal.

All we had to do is play respectable defensive hockey, and we haven't even come close to that.
Nonsense. They have very poor defensemen and very poor goaltenders. And very poor third and fourth line. They have 4 really good forwards, one decent one and the rest of the team is horrible. Chimera, Cizikas, Clutterbuck, Quin, Prince are all terrible. Hickey, Seidenberg are terrible. The three young D aren’t any good defensively. The goalies are terrible.

Anyone else getting that perfume commercial with the Twilight girl in it on NHL.tv? I'm trying to decide whether it's a really bad commercial or really good softcore porn.

And more importantly, he's the only member of the fan base of posters on here that hates Snow enough to actually purchase a sweatshirt I made with the Snow Must Go message on the back because Ledecky's seats are behind his at the Barclays Center. Nobody should ever knock his commitment as a fan.

Every player you've listed as "terrible" here was on the roster last season. And many of them were on the team when they were recording back-to-back 100 point seasons.

Also, you can find five or six "terrible" players on pretty much every team in the league. Are ours that much worse to the point where they play such a significant factor in our absurd goals against? I'd doubt it. Columbus was playing the likes of Jussi Jokinen on their powerplay after all. Is he any better than Chimera? If he is, it's a marginal upgrade at best.

And, yes the defense isn't good, but is it far and away the worst in the league like our goals against suggests? I don't think so.

I also think you're downplaying the top-six; it's undoubtedly elite.

But are you enjoying yourself...Or is it just a pattern you never questioned changing, or even addition?
I don’t enjoy the losses but I do enjoy being at the games. I like being at games live over watching them on tv. I have friends I enjoy seeing there. My wife likes going to the games. Yeah I walk out pissed off a lot but it doesn’t last long, then I vent here for a couple of days and realize that it doesn’t change a f***ing thing like all your Garth Snow diatribes. He’ll likely be the GM tomorrow and the next day. Jon Ledecky is aware of how much the fans want Snow fired. If the team’s dysfunction was supposed to keep us away then you probably haven’t bought a ticket since 1994.
