Honestly, I'd see the NHLPA considering it a danger to the players, and they might not be wrong. A puck hitting one could cause it to fall on a player.
Statistically unlikely, but something to keep in mind.
1) Every player on the ice is aware of where the puck is, so they'd see it if it hit a drone
2) They all wear helmets
Of course, the NHL never has any luck with these kind of things, so if they do it, a drone will get hit by a puck, shatter into a hundred pieces and a piece of that shrapnel will pierce a fan's eye and kill him/her/they. I think the people in the stands are probably more vulnerable to injury because they don't always pay attention, and they don't wear helmets.
