Could be worse.. perusing the Prospects board and it looks like Michkov isn't on the bench for either team.

I think Walman's is even funnier, it goes past vertical. He just has more time because he's a defenseman and knows to use it only when he has space. I hope he sticks around for a few years, just so we can watch that, lol.

Edit: I had to look for a video, lol,. So the reason why the stick is past vertical is because he lifts the blade vertically off the ice and comes all the way around with it, There actually isn't a backswing like golf. To me that's even funnier. Watch his swing....

3:19 on the game clock is where he lifts the stick up. There's a slower replay at the end as well.

Love it. A great observations, researched presented and something I've never noticed. You are spot on. Great post.

Similarity between Buchelnikov and ASP.
Both trying , but not very good defensively, undersized, high hockey IQ, skating, good shut , PP specialist.

Buch with 1G 1A on the pp yet, ska’s khl roster is too stacked to crack in a good role

I am happy he is getting ice time, unlike a certain someone, but would prefer him to be loaned out to a KHL team, preferably Torpedo under Larionov, if he could get ice time there.

They are loaning Michkov again. No word on Buchelnikov.

KHL club SKA St. Petersburg is once again loaning Philadelphia Flyers top prospect Matvei Michkov to league rival HK Sochi, according to multiple reports out of Russia. St. Petersburg loaned Michkov to the basement-dwelling club near the beginning of last season as well.

That is just a strange move. That's like loaning Kasper to the 'Yotes, lol.

Michkov scored 20 pts in 27 games for Sochi last season, why would you not want that kid on your team? I guess they need space for Galchn-yuk?

Buchelnikov is playing top minutes on the top line, most of pp time. VHL is the best spot for him this season. Small guy , should take longer to develop.

I mean they could be ghosting him out because he has said he wants to join the flyers next year. So why let him play and enjoy the bright lights when he is leaving? It's like "turning your back on your country" type stuff. idk.

There were talks about Michkov personality right before the draft and I am glad we didn't draft him. He could be the most talented player at last draft, but somehow he wasn't drafted top 5, means there were problems with him

27GP 9G 11A +1 while playing for a complete dumpster fire KHL team doesn't sound like he's causing problems. Meanwhile the team signs Glachenyuk?

I don't think common sense exists at all in that country, lol.

or it means he told those teams he didn't want to play for them. Not to mention he didn't accept interviews with many teams, including the top 10 teams.

Remind me Zadina attitude
See, I think that is apples to oranges.

Michkov is being touted as the same level as Bedard. Are you equating Zadina (during draft year before drafted, not hindsight) was being touted as Bedard/Michkov level? Highly doubt it but I guess I could be wrong. Yeah he was supposed to be the guy that scores a lot, but it was evident that he didn't have compete or skating when drafted.

Michkov also was nothing but gracious during the interviews after being drafted saying its a dream come true and all that stuff. Zadina instantly was saying I will fill their nets. They made a mistake. Blah blah. There's a difference there.

I am not saying Michkov doesn't have character issues. Admittedly, I haven't actually seen proof of this other than "that's what people are saying".

if he told teams he wouldn't play for them wouldn't that be the exact opposite of Zadina? Zadina was upset because teams DIDN'T draft him

not that I buy that he did any such thing, teams just make stupid choices sometimes

It's even more crazy because Sochi and SKA are at same division.

That's like Red Wings loaning Kasper to Sens/Sabres.
