All in all, great period from our first line. With Nash playing like this, add gamebreaking ability to everything else they're good at.

Speed, defense, nastiness. If Stepan can start converting his fantastic defensive play into points, this is a great 1st line.

We're fine. The Islanders are a competitive team. They're constantly in close games.

For all the criticism the Metro gets, the Islanders are by far the toughest last place team to compete against.

Joe is just an isles fanboy that wants to push this perception that the Rangers are getting outplayed.

I don't get it. Than at the end, Joe goes on to say that the Islanders had all of these chances, but the Rangers are winning 2-1.

I feel like I'm watching a different game than him. We've had much better chances than the Islanders. The only Grade A chance we let up was in the back of our net. Even when they had us pinned in for minutes on end all we would let up was a perimeter shot.

To say Talbot was the best player that period? When Nash looks like a man on a mission? It's delusional.

Talbot did what was expected of him. He faced mostly easy shots, and let up 1 goal. Don't make it anything more or less.

We played solid defensively that period, and we also generated quality scoring chances. We should be up 2-1.

If Rangers were down 6-1 15 min in to third then I would let it slide, but when your team is up 2-1 and just finished first I think it is a tad too soon to wallow in self-pity.
