Nothing wrong with that, but we need to be signing players at or below their true value. The thing with Kreider is, he’ll be one tough player to replace. I’m willing to keep him for 3-4 more years, but 7?

In all seriousness how much more are we supposed to pay Brendan Lemieux as a what 25 year old next year? He’s a fourth line mouth that skates well but not much more than that.

both he and Howden really are at best good fourth line options. But not more

Sentimental feelings have nothing to do with it. He's a power forward who is producing, can skate like the wind, and is our best net front presence, plus he's a good vet to have with the young kids. I want him signed for those reasons.

some skating improvements needed for Howden. Need a fast first step. Lose some weight, bench some weights.

There is no blame. Only the reality that he most likely will never be able to live up to the contract he will get from some team(again, thankfully, not ours). Injury, inconsistency, lack of elite production.

I would love to keep Lemieux but he's a high 4, low 3 and shouldn't make more than that.

Yes, inconsistency, as he cruises towards yet another identical season.
