Lots of little on the 4th line speculation, did I miss something that he’s confirmed to even come back and play this year?

Somewhere nice
Whatever copp ate he should keep eating that before each game.

After the first shift he was killing it.

KC, that dude has some after burner!
He is on another gear now.

Vintage Wheeler on his goal. Im happy that he is getting to use to his new role in the 2nd line. For the team.
When Perrault lowry Little comes back they can take of some of the burden on the defensive responsibility.

Schiefele for some of the warts he has. Its only because he has to face the best defense night after night after night. Amongst all the Jets player, im pretty sure he has the 1st bulls eye to receive body checks. He is the straw that stirs the drinks for this team.

Laine does a lot of Little things defensively good. He covers for his dmen when they pinch in. Like what coach is saying now he is the bus driver on many nights.

Ehlers a team player. Never gets much an opportunity to pad his stats late in the game.
But he is first one jumping up on the bench when they score the empty net.

Helly one save he made on Saad point blank, but that was huge.
Could have been 3 zero or 3-1.

Jets defense, star dmen is good to Hve but that wont be easy. They just need to work collectively and coach to keep going with the transistion game. Heinola and Samberg looks bright the dcore. Plus with buff salary being available next year (maybe). They can get a solid dman.

Ok so I got home late from Mexico only to find out I PVR’d APTN and got the Cree call as well. Not joking I prefer it to Sportsnet. The audio for the crowd noise seemed louder the the announcer was a character.
I plan to give this a try in the future. I had to put last night's game on mute for long stretches so I could enjoy the action. I'd much rather hear some crowd noise and listen in Cree.

Good win by the Jets and hope they can build on this winning streak they are on. They have a nice position in the wildcard spot, but are not to far behind Dallas for 3rd place. If Dallas starts to lose - you never know.

I was just looking at the scoring race, and Connor is in 12th place --which means he's the 12 th best player in the world, and getting better. He's really putting together a great year, and will likely be close to 40 goals, and getting better as he matures. Scheifele is 13-th place --right behind, I believe.

Pionk is our leading scorer for defenseman with 37 points, and Trouba only has 27 points, so that deal that brought Pionk here by Chevy was a very solid deal, and financially a big winner. At this point you'd have to say that Pionk has as much value as Trouba as a defenseman, or very close, and at way less the cost. The only thing Pionk doesn't have is that toughness and grit.

I think the Jet's are on the right track, and if they could somehow get a strong, fast "big tough" defenseman that could score, I think we could contend for the Stanley Cup. A couple defensive players away IMO.

Maybe I'm not explaining it well. I personally don't think he's changed his philosophy in the least, what he has done is loosened some of his restrictions in the nz and offensive zone. So same overall system but with more freedom for our skilled players to make plays.
When we have to chase a game, you will see that type of loosening up. Same system same philosophy, just the circumstance dictating our style of game.

Maurice knows this team can manufacturer offence under almost any structure, but playing D will be something they have to work hard at. He is not going to alienate his commitment to D at this point in the season to appease the couch coach who fails to understand that you do not win in this league without a massive commitment to D.

I very much agree here. I have never understood why some people love Lowry so much here. As a 4th liner he might have some use, at least in some situations. And maybe on the PK. But he shouldn’t be getting big minutes ever, as it is too much away from efficient offensive play for the Jets. The dude is pretty much an offensive black hole, so please keep him at well chosen (preferably small) minutes on the 4th line.

The Jets have way too much offensive talent to play offensive plugs like Lowry for the big minutes that Maurice has been playing him often. Copp is another story, as he can do at least something offensively. Him I have liked a lot more since both them started their careers as a Jet. He is pretty useful as a 3rd liner, and with injuries he can be a pretty good stunt even for some games in the top two lines. Lowry has absolutely no use in the top lines though. Just keep him in the 4th line in every situation, please.

I totally agree with Ippenator here. Lowry has hands of stone, and cannot score. I'd play him on the 4th line. What he's good for is a physical presence, so players won't try to intimidate our smaller guys, as Lowry is mighty tough.

It's also nice to see Laine developing nicely --skating a lot harder, and is harder on the puck and not giving it away anymore, and his scoring touch is starting to come back. He's been very impressive the last 30 games or so. I hope he keeps it up, and keeps getting better. He's right up there on the 1st page in the scoring race in the NHL --and climbing.

They really turned it around after a stinker of a first. Helle was great again. Saw some shades of that magical 17-18 Jets there, albeit a little bit more of a tire-fire in their own zone .

What a turn around game.
Hopefully we can keep this up and use this homestand as a spring board to get back into the top 3 in our division

I agree with Eyeseeing here -and I believe we're only 7 points behind Dallas right now for 3rd place, and closing fast lately. I hope we can keep on winning and put together a 6 game winning streak, and we'd be right up there. You never know what could happen, once we get Little back, we'll even be better --and Laine and Connor are really cooking lately.

Well, it used to be that after the initial rush in the o-zone, the puck would be distributed to the D-man who then blasts it to the net. This would happen almost without fail. Now you can clearly see that is not happening anymore. The o-zone system has absolutely changed which has improved our underlying metrics.

About the neutral zone and d-zone changes I can't speak because I don't understand that part of the game yet very well. We don't seem to be leaking that much at least which is good.

Besides, if I was the coach, I would absolutely have a guy go though fan comments and ideas. The game is so incredibly complex that if you can find some gems in the garbage, that might give you an advantage or spark an idea for variation of your own, especially in a market that lives and breathes hockey. Doctors for example use search engines like crazy, it does not mean they are incompetent. Of course fans can be hilariously wrong, and probably mostly are (I know from personal experience LOL).

The team is very fun to watch now, so whatever is going on, keep it up!

what was kind of cool is the guy calling the game did it all and it reminds me of My days following junior or perhaps the Moose. Sometimes the solo call has a better rhythm.

Jets play better with emotion. They were clearly told they needed to do this down the stretch. The fighting etc is not a coincidence. Love Copp, keep him at all costs, he drives this team with emotion, give the guy a letter. Fun game and boys all played well after a slow start.

Sportsnet is always muted in our house, every game. It makes the constant kvetching about Galley rather amusing.

I exercise my right not to know.

I still don't understand the comments of so and so (Copp/Lowry) having hands of stone so they should be put on the 4th line. If they tilt the ice in your favor, create more/better chances that what's you want. But anyway, continue this narrative....

I am so frigging proud of these guys. What a gutsy effort. I said previous to this game they look a lot like the 17-18 Jets, albeit looser defensively.

Beaulieu has added some toughness this team needed. Call me a dinosaur but I think it has something to do with our success.

Niku struggled in spots but played pretty well too. Kulikov was really good, as were 4 and 44.

Connor is a threat every shift, Laine is becoming a very dangerous player as he's starting to put both parts of his game together.

All this and 2 of our best forwards are still struggling to score.

I can't wait till Little comes back, that gives us some options to improve the 4th line.

Feels good!!

Great minds think alike. I was just thinking that most of the last two games have felt like the 17/18 Jets. It's all about the speed and tenacity to me, the pack of wolves. I think they can go far again, with just a couple of changes, assuming they keep this type of play up.

i interpret it as they get all these chances but if they had good hands ie: of a top 6 fwd they'd be converting those chances into goals or setting teammates up.

This is something I've commented on a lot the past couple years. Seems strange that players that get chances but don't always convert get more flak than players that just straight up don't get chances.

You see, if you’re talking about Copp and Lowry then putting up points is the most important, but when you’re talking about Connor then driving play is the most important.
