Lots of talk that he's going to go play with the London Knights next year.

I hope he works out, but just the fact Logan Brown boasted on how he took a retaliatory penalty to help him means we're going to be on the PK a lot with him around in the early stages. This looks like a "name recognition" pick to drive season ticket sales...which is fair in this market, but man, Zadina.

As usual this place is so Black and White.

Would have preferred Zadina. Tkachuk has been unfairly portrayed around here by many because he is big and plays with an edge but there's a lot of skill and it wont take long for that to be evident at the pro level.

Love this pick. We finally have a powerforward if all goes well with Brady's development. We need a goalscorer too but good powerforwards are much harder to acquire. Good first step to rebuilding.
Exactly. Lots of time to fill in othewr needs. The tkachuk package does not come around very often. That includes the characte, off ice stuff. The name is just a bonus.

Just look at the kid, he's a thoroughbred athlete. Hes going to be an absolute monster when he fills out.

You can argue that his bloodline is a non factor, because it's not a proven science by any stretch. But I've been a hockey fan long enough to know that it is absolutely a factor, his brother is further evidence of this (and has very similar attributes), and I would have a hard time betting against this kid becoming a dominant player.

I can't lie that I would have preferred if we didnt have to pass on Zadina, it certainly complicates the pick. But he was not the player that we needed to start the culture change here, even if his hands are softer.

then they are terrible at marketing I have never read a single post from a fan that wanted to draft him because of his name while I have read 10 billion posts from fans bashing him because of his name.

Whoa, the negativity here is crazy.

I wanted to pick Zadina, but Tkachuk was up there as well. Montreal/Arizona went for positional needs, Ottawa went with who they felt was the BPA. Let's see how this plays out before bashing the team. Tkachuk was highly regarded as well.

My guess is that Ottawa will be on the PP a lot & Brady will draw a lot of penalties.

Lol I'm really glad that this never came into consideration with our pick....
