Perfectly fair. As much as a certain pick might make me raise an eyebrow, I still am willing to wait before I judge it anymore than, "that's a surprising/curious pick that I like less than the others." But I get it.

Lol, regardless of how good or bad of a pick this is, how good or bad it turns out, I love that clip just from a hockey perspective. 1 blocked shot and 3 hits in under 10 seconds. Filling up that stat sheet!
He could be our next Ben Chiarot!

He does not skate extremely well. I don't know why you would say that. Compare him to Brandon Carlo if you want to see someone of a similar frame skate extremely well as a draft eligible.
He skates well for someone that size. Carlo is a top 4 dman I had a first round grade on. So no not there but honestly don’t understand throwing that out. After the pick one of the first things they said on the broadcast was also about the skating in a good way.

Pronman and others have said nice things about his skating for those saying it is awful.

I know most of the Americans here aren't big on the CHL, but I really hope something happens where he decides to come to Sudbury (we have his OHL rights). It's been forever since there's been a DRW prospect here lol

He would be an absolute animal in the ohl if he would have played there before they started taking out fighting. The kid is scary

It feels like most recent years they've gone off-board in the 2nd round. Besides maybe perhaps Mazur, it's proven to be real stinkers. So not getting my hopes up on this one.

This draft smells 2017 to me.
Mazur was a third rounder, and he fell because he was an over-ager.

I keep saying Draper's second rounders suck, people are finally starting to agree with me, lol. Picked a 7D with a second rounder, that's beyond hilarious.

I predict next draft he selects his daughter with the 1st, because he won't be able to wait until the 7th round this time.

Heading to Wisconsin with Mehlenbacher and Stange is already there. Developmental program matters.

EDIT. Phelan too in 2024-25

It's a shit team over in Wisconsin. And Cleveland will be their 6th defenseman. Just what we want from a guy that was a bottom pair defenseman at the NTDP.

They will turn it around this year with Hastings there. And he seems like a good kid. Still hate the pick

This could possibly be, and I mean this with no exaggeration, one of the worst picks I’ve seen in the second round in recent memory. This kid hasn’t scored a goal since being on his HS hockey team. He either wound have not been drafted or taken in like the 7th round.

Absolutely bizarre.
Shocked you don't like it. Shocked I say.

Not nice enough to rank him better than #114

I think they knew it was a huge reach. That’s why they traded down before this pick… nobody was taking him this high.

Toledo Walleye fans must be loving this pick.
Ok this one may take the cake…

He's heading to Wisconsin, Wings will more than likely lose his rights because he'll probably be there for all 4 years, which might allow him to play a bigger role once he's an upperclassman.

It's absolutely asinine to draft a kid that is obviously going to play in college for 4 years. STUPID. This trumps drafting your own son because it was a second round pick.

Fire Draper. I think Turtle Boy must've damaged his brain.

I hate the pick a lot but let’s not get carried away, he was ranked 90-120. He wasn’t going undrafted. He would have been taken by somebody in the 4th or 5th latest.

every scouting report I found him on has him ranked as a 4th or 5th round pick.
