I don't want to get in the way of all the glad handing and usual "lol Canucks" stuff, but this game was an embarrassment of epic proportions offensively. I'm sure that's been said, but this team is woefully ineffective in the offensive zone and it took a major gaffe and a 3 on 1 - which our star center nearly flubbed - to win by one goal.

This team is in an eerily similar position as they were in early 2012. Is there a magic trade this time around? I just don't know.

Sestito on Nolan. He gets mauled and barely has time to react, so I guess he gets a pass. Brown gets blown up by Kesler. Doughty gets run, Quick gets run. A lot of BS out there tonight and not a huge response. Usually, this is where we'd say, " the Kings kept their cool and played a smart game" and I guess that's sort of what happened. But "calm and controlled" looked more like deer in a headlights, if you want my perfectly honest opinion.

Maybe this team still had trouble getting up for games that don't mean much and they'll flip the usual switch in April. I HOPE that's the case, because the team I've watched since Christmas is about as listless and ineffective as any club in the NHL.

Only positive I'm taking away from this game is that Brown has strung together a series of pretty good performances. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Things that frighten me as a Kings fan about tonight's game (in order):

1) The Kings PP
2) The Kings even strength offense
3) Greene sustaining yet another injury
4) The Canucks PK
5) Brian Wilson's haircut
6) The music guy at Staples playing Kiss all the time now
7) The Canucks aggressiveness

I just went back to sleep half way through the game. Kings just aren't that fun to watch to justify a 4am wakeup call. In the playoffs I don't mind waiting 60 mins for a GWG, but during the regular season I want more fun. The offense is really struggling and it's hard to watch.

The Canucks feel good about themselves because they slew footed a guy, their goalie didn't get run, a useless goon threw punches and ended up getting tossed for half the game, the Sedin's didn't get hammered into next week, and they got their revenge on Brown. Oh wait scratch that last one he scored the game winning goal.

Torts, the players and the fans live on fantasy island.

Pretty much this. The only message the Canucks sent was that it doesn't matter what they do against us, they're still going to lose.

I mean, really, if your GM makes public statements about a non-incident and your coach's game plan revolves around sending a message yet it still results in a loss...they got up for this game big time and got shut out. Hilarious.

Ducks are going to feast on the leftovers tomorrow too.

But I'm going to bed now, completely happy that Brown and the Kings have completely trolled all our rivals. So much anger out there tonight

lol, torts... "We did a lot in deciding that ice was ours"
Your ice, that you decided to get shut out on?

Offense is another rant but good ****ing job back in our zone to shut them down on that. Very satisfying despite the missing aspects.

Bieksa: "We were going to make a statement whether they liked it or not. After first period, they were skating around and saying: .... 'What's up with you guys tonight?" We obviously got their attention and we'd like to play like this every night.

The Kings weren't intimated, I think they found it amusing cos that was so unlike them. They sure showed 'em!

Other teams will watch this game and think it's okay to do this to us and we won't push back. Even Jim Fox kept saying the kings will have to push back eventually...and they didn't. Our captain who is a non fighter had to fight Kesler and punching bag and oft injured Greene has to fight Bieska? Ugh. Sad night.

Yep teams watched this game and thought "Man we should be this aggressive next time we play the Kings. They won't fight back ,and we will only have to spend 20 minutes on the pk. How great is that?"

Also like to add, that was a terrible game for Tanner Pearson. He looked lost in all three zones, hope the kid can figure it out.

It will be war with Torts as your coach now.

We got the 2 points guys...

We still need to make some trades though. First period and everything after that was purely disgusting hockey by the kings.
I think were better off by just letting someone from the farm to fill our lw needs. A big trade doesn't seem feasible right now unless it consists of buster brown as the centerpiece. And for goodness sakes, send pearson back down to develop and keep him there.

Yeah, at this point Toffoli's development is being hamstrung and he was as sure fire as you get. Pearson is going to get Clifford'ed unless management handles him correctly.

Canucks are so easily satisfied. They slewfoot Drew and have a generic fight and they feel like Mike Tyson. It also explains why they act like they have won multiple Cups yet they have over 40 years of fail. The arrogance and ignorance of that franchise and fan base is baffling. It's also hilarious. Can't wait to watch the rug get pulled out for them yet again. It's a yearly tradition, like the Sharks choking. How about they stop patting themselves on the back and focus on trying to win a single playoff game in the first round this year. Or is that too steep of a climb?

I can't wait until the next game in Vancouver when the Canucks bring in these guys to try and intimidate the Kings:

Tim 'Dr. Hook' McCracken

Ogie Ogilthorpe

Andre 'Poodle' Lussier

Ross 'Mad Dog' Madison

...and

Clarence 'Screaming Buffalo' Swamptown

, but most of all I fear the "Sparkle Twins"!!

I thought of this too. Next meeting, the Vancouver goon line will line up at the opening face off.

If I were a nuck fan I would be absolutely pissed that my coach cost them 2 points tonight against a team they are chasing in the division.

I guess reality hasn't set in with them that they are a **** team that will go out in 4 games no matter who they face in the playoffs.

Didn't catch the 1st period and the 1st 10 min of the second,

But everyone complaining about the offense, the chances were there in the 3rd, Carter from point blank, how he misses that, I still don't know. Kopitar half-breakaway, Stoll shorthanded making an interesting decision to make a spin pass than shoot it, Williams in the slot, etc,

They easily had 4-5 absolutely GRADE A scoring chances in the 3rd alone, have no idea about the 1st and 2nd,

Carter or Kopitar gets a better bounce and not one of you is saying the offense is bad etc, that's the issue.

I know it's not an easy concept to grasp, offense is more than just goals scored.

Sestito on Nolan. He gets mauled and barely has time to react, so I guess he gets a pass.

Nolan got the Kings 7 minutes worth of a PP by knowingly not fighting. That was the right thing to do. The Kings PP just sucks.

Brown gets blown up by Kesler.

Brown doesn't fight, and he certainly wasn't going to fight Kassian at the start of the game. He eventually got into a fight, and took Kesler off the ice at the same time. That's an equal trade, and probably in the Kings favor more than not.

Doughty gets run

That wasn't being run. At the time, who was on the ice with Doughty? I saw Brown and Carter in the immediate vicinity. Who's taking Weise?

Quick gets run.

That was Quick diving more than being run.

Maybe while they were on the PP. Other than that, you're going to have to show your work on the headlight thing.

Not often that a team can miss on the amount of opportunities the kings did last night and still win.
As others have said I worry that now other teams will not fear taking penalties against LA and will take liberties, and playing dirty.
Kopitar and Carter had some great chances and just could not finish.
How come Toffoli only got 6 minutes and change in ice time. He had one stand out shift to me where carried the puck into the zone and set up carter for a good chance but he missed. With the PP struggling I would have hoped TT would have seen more PP time.

Really? Weise was on the GD goal line for no reason with the puck not there. Did Quick go down easy yes, but Weise had no business being there and was definitely trying to put pressure on Quick.
Yes someone on the ice should have dropped them with Weise after the slew foot. Star players do this all the time on other teams to send a message. It should have at least been addressed on Weise's next shift.
