We pussed out big time tonight. Quick and Doughty got run and nothing happened. Nolan could have fought Sestito? Am I missing something? Where was RR tonight? Last game he challenged Sestito after that hit on Williams. Bieska was taking shots at guys all night and Matt Greene, who is a terrible fighter and oft injured has to do the fighting? Yuck.

I would had hoped the Kings kept Carcillo just for a game like this. It was a little embarrassing.

Certainly different. The only post not complaining about the PP.

Nolan could've fought Sestito, but since he didn't the Kings went on the PP for a million minutes. A couple PP goals there would've gone further than Nolan fighting.

Greene didn't have to do the fighting, but he chose to. Again, if the Kings could've scored on the PP...

Yup, yet another reason I wish Carcillo was on this team. When the game went south I'd lean over and tell him to make it happen. Let him go thermonuclear on Sestito or Weise

When did the game go south?

As far as goes south, I think he means when it became clear the canucks didn't want to play hockey.

And Greene got volunteered to fight, bs that he got the instigator there.

Its cute that the Canucks are proud for gooning it up, and think they made a statement. No doubt in the Kings lockerroom after the game they were sharing some laughs at the Canucks expense, and will no doubt be in the Canucks heads next game telling them to try acting tough again

Nice to get Alec Martinez a rest day so he can be back fresh on the ice for the next game.

Exactly what I thought

Yup. They wanna goon it up? Fine. They wanna throw a slewfoot on Doughty? Deploy Carcillo to kill, kill, kill.

Other than the slew foot on Doughty, I don't think Vancouver got under the Kings' skin at all. They looked foolish hooking and holding trying to send a message. The fights were no big deal at all. The Kings happily took the 2 points from a team that they have frustrated so much over the last few years that they totally abandoned playing the way they have to play to beat the Kings.

If/when they ever get a player that can lay the kind of hit that Brown put on Henrik in Game 3 of 2012, on Kopitar, then the Kings might worry.

Kings handled the physical stuff well, beat them on the scoreboard and they delivered their own share of hits and responded when things got out of line. No reason to be undisciplined.

They really just need to keep the regular lines going on the powerplay because that was the only time they were able to settle things down and control the puck in the offensive zone. Keep Richards at center, he's being wasted being placed on LW with Kopitar and Carter.

This may have been Brown's best game of the season (aside from the first period where he made some questionable passes on the powerplay). He was hitting, he was smart enough to drop the gloves with Kesler and not a ******** like Kassian, he drew penalties, and as a captain should do, led his team to victory.

Quick also seems to save his best for the Canucks. As for the bad, I think that's been well covered with the horrific performance on the powerplay, but another sticking point is Muzzin.

This guys play has been in the ***** for the past few weeks and he just keeps getting worse and worse. Jack Johnson was never as bad as Muzzin, but miraculously Muzzin's +/- numbers don't look as bad, thanks in part to him benefiting from having Doughty on his right. Without Doughty he's a lost cause. Hopefully he is used as an asset like Johnson was to bring in a much needed goal scorer because I just do not see him getting much better than what we've already seen of him. He'll wind up being another Kyle Quincey where some team down the road will overpay him and soon find out he's got some decent tools but no toolbox.

Think? lol.. green has a concussion, Brown has lacerations on his face, Dougty has a bruised tailbone and Nolan got rocked 2 times in the face.

Pretty sure they did it andnext time we ned to get them back. Bring in Konopka

Carcillo got tossed around like a rag doll the other night. He's going to do what against 6-5, 230lbs Tom Sestito?

The Kings problem against the Canucks was not a lack of physical play, or the wrong guys fighting, when the Canucks gooned it up. It was a lack of cohesive skill on the PP.

Other teams will watch this game and think it's okay to do this to us and we won't push back. Even Jim Fox kept saying the kings will have to push back eventually...and they didn't. Our captain who is a non fighter had to fight Kesler and punching bag and oft injured Greene has to fight Bieska? Ugh. Sad night.

^ We won. You won't win games when you get uncorked. We played this game rather well from a mental standpoint.

I didn't want to say it, but a borderline hit. If Weise is gonna slewfoot one of our best players, he needs to get ****ing rocked.

The time to push back was after we scored a couple PP goals from all their over aggressive play. The problem is our PP is abysmal and we couldn't really push back too much because one goal could decide this game, and it did.

Not a single team in the league is going to watch that game and think that's a good way to play the LA Kings...

They will be too busy trying to emulate the Hawks , to beat the Kings. The Nucks are lucky the Kings can't score, they try that crap against the Ducks....the game will end 10-0

I really doubt it. Tonight was an isolated incident and a mental battle more than a physical one. It should be telling that the Canucks lost and think they 'won'.

I haven't seen this team have any toughness issues in a long time, have you? Nolan and Clifford have been taking all comers otherwise.

I feel like the Canucks didnt want to win tonight they wanted to make a statement then Nolan rocked the boat with the Sedin hit. you can tell in the post game that they were happy with the outcome. Hockey is in a funny time right now, suspensions need to be more severe.

Sad night? The Kings did exactly what they should've done. Watch the Canucks get off their game! This is the result from getting into these guys heads for the last 2 years. We watched a free wheeling skilled team go on to try a dump in chase, neutral zone trap, and goon it up hockey! Is that Canucks Hockey? The sad part was the Kings couldn't take advantage of all that PP time!

So, what is the message the Canucks tried to send the Kings today? Hey you can't push us around like 2 years too late? 3 games into this season too late? Hmmmm, message recieved! Now, get ready for the next time we play. Hopefully it means something.

Because the Kings suck on the PP, not because Brown and Greene danced with a couple Canucks.

Outside of Vancouver, who tries to goon it up against the Kings? Since the Kings are now 4-0 against them this season, nothing else seemed to be working. The Blues play hard, not dirty. The Coyotes are the Coyotes, and are sliding away at the moment. The Kings can't catch the Hawks on the ice. Sharks? Ducks? No.

I didn't want to say it, but a borderline hit. If Weise is gonna slewfoot one of our best players, he needs to get ****ing rocked.

Which isn't going to get through to Weise, because the only way he stays in the league is to be physical. The Kings could go after the Canucks best players, and they have. Sedin got hit by Nolan. Brown fought Kesler. Then of course Brown went after Luongo like a bat out of hell in the last game(wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

The Canucks feel good about themselves because they slew footed a guy, their goalie didn't get run, a useless goon threw punches and ended up getting tossed for half the game, the Sedin's didn't get hammered into next week, and they got their revenge on Brown. Oh wait scratch that last one he scored the game winning goal.

Torts, the players and the fans live on fantasy island.

Never noticed this before, but the two referees shook each other's hand at the end of the game.

Not sure why when I think about it; maybe they were thinking they controlled the game with their aggressive penalty calls in the first two periods.

Now, as to the game: **** the Canucks and Tortorella's strategy to goon it up. Didn't work, did it now a-hole?

What a loser.

Also this game might have woke Brown up. He now has three goals in his last five games. He played pissed tonight, Brown playing angry is a good thing for the Kings.

I can't wait until the next game in Vancouver when the Canucks bring in these guys to try and intimidate the Kings:

Tim 'Dr. Hook' McCracken

Ogie Ogilthorpe

Andre 'Poodle' Lussier

Ross 'Mad Dog' Madison

...and

Clarence 'Screaming Buffalo' Swamptown

, but most of all I fear the "Sparkle Twins"!!
