Ghost is going to get a very nice contract next year.

That's the scary thing, since Vatanen is looking like he will easily pull 4.5M+.

It would be absolutely beautiful for all of the prospects to flourish, but if that happens they'll definitely have to ship someone out.

Umberger seriously would have missed that net even if holtby didn't stop it. This guy would be playing in the AHL if he didn't have an NMC. Just buy him out or healthy scratch him and play a younger guy. Hextall needs to see that having him active is just futile. No team will trade for him.
It must be demoralizing for his linemates that they keep feeding him chances and he can't bury any of it.

Hell of a period. Bumberger burying that one would have made me feel a lot better. Caps will make this a game im sure.

Ghost was outstanding that entire period, in all 3 zones.

He had some mediocre moments in his own zone. Couple bizarre passes, and at one time was headed too slowly and almost timidly into his own corner, let the Cap pursuing get by him and make a pass that led to a solid shot. Playing well but still doesn't seem to have the wherewithall to play the boards and behind the net at the NHL level.

Ghost is going to be an RFA. There are rules, if they just follow the rules year by year, it can only get so much.

Talk about nit-picking. Wowzers.

He'll get a decent raise. Other teams offer him contracts if the flyers lowball. What would you do if someone offers him a weber contract? No choice but to sign it.

Wonder what bile Mike Dingleberry will be spewing from his orifice tonight against the Flyers...so far he at least praised Ghost

Then we take the dump truck of 1st round draft picks as compensation and wish him well.

Gostisbehere isn't eligible to sign an extension until July 1st this summer. My bet he has one sometime before next season starts. We could be talking long term here too.

No, paying attention. I love him and he's my favorite player to watch on the team, but he has much to learn still. He looked kind of paralyzed on the one sequence, forget which Cap it was coming in on him, but he looked like he didn't want to get hit and rather than finding a solution he froze up and got beat. These things matter. He's terrific, but there's things to be concerned about with a young, undersized defenseman before we speak on "outstanding in all facets" and such.

I'm sorry, if somebody offers Ghost a Weber contract, I'll waive bye...accept the 5 first round picks and replace him with Sanheim.
