Rangers are a tad chippy with the puck. Got to have a little more poise. Passes are jumping over sticks cause they are being a little too panicky.

I also hate the fact that the Rangers have a tendency to one hand their sticks instead of keeping control of the shaft to anticipate a pass.

Not a great period, but not bad. They got some good chances and didn't give up many the other way. MZA had a great shift there at the end.

The ice looks horrendous.

Markstrom was good. Callahan needed to shoot that puck, but otherwise, I thought that period was fine. Could have definitely been a lot worse.

Come on Rangers. If there isn't 4+ goals a game how are we going to blame everything on Boyle being out!?

I'd be less mad if Cally at least took a shot on that chance. Christ.

He's too big...Markstrom doesnt have to even move

Seriously. When people complain Lundqvist is too big, do they realize he's 6'1 while almost every rookie goalie coming up is 6'4+. Markstrom is 6'6 that means he's almost 6'8 on skates. That's just insane for a goalie. I'm a goalie and at 5'10 I have to fricken scramble like Richter and Hasek in situations where these huge new goalies just butterfly and guess and hope for the puck to hit them. Makes my blood boil actually.

Yeah, but those monster sized guys are fairly easy to beat if you have a mobile guy in front of the net grabbing the rebounds. I'd rather have an average sized goalie that can actually move and track the puck.

True, I certainly made it work I ended up playing juniors and in college, it's just a much harder position these days when you're undersized. Just frustrating when I'm giving up more net to shoot at and have to scramble just to make crazy saves when a huge guy, if he loses the puck will just go down and he's practically covering the whole net.

The best way to beat a big goalie is to get them moving. Usually the bigger they are, the worse footwork they have. Get guys in front, get them moving. You basically have to force them out of their butterfly comfort zone.
