I love Gaborik but he isn't long for this league if stuff like this keeps happening. He should go play in Europe (This isn't a critisism) but leagues like the Czech league are fun, pay well, and guys like Straka, Rucinsky, Nedved are there and still playing comfortably into their 40's.

Gaborik is one more nasty injury away from early retirement, potentially, and he's too much fun to watch. If he goes to Europe he can play for Slovakia at the world champs every year.

Your first point is absolutely spot on. But I do worry that a loss of confidence will compound Hank's insecurity -- and, with his new contract and having hit 30, it'd be difficult to deal him. In short: I think it's in our medium-term interest to see Hank return to form -- even if it comes at the expense of a few wins (and even a playoff spot) this year.

I really like Hank, but these days I am always super nervous when he starts for us. Almost dreading the game.

Even if it's after a win and even if we have seen several glimpses of his old
Godquist-self in the game before. I prefer Talbot because of his calm and positive energy.

Hopefully we score 3 or more goals than usual, so that it does not matter so much how Hank plays.
