  • Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates, this is just a temporary look. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days and restore the site to it's more familiar look, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Of course it was. After they told the Flyers he wasn't going to sign, he cut off all communcaition

the practice of ending a personal relationship with someone by suddenly and without explanation withdrawing from all communication.
After telling them…. After. Learn how words work, please.

If you go on a date with someone and then later they text you saying they never want to see you again, they didn’t ghost you. They told you the relationship was over, and you should respect that. But desperate losers like the Flyers management can’t take no for an answer.

"You're the most dishonest poster on this board" he says, while confirming what I said
I posted two threads from 2020 confirming that I said Ghost is better than Hagg and that I think Hagg stinks. Confirming that you're dishonest.

They are in this thread for everyone to read.

The ghosting occurs after they tell you they don't want to see you again. They just told you they didn't want to see you again. They didn't tell you why or offer an explanation why. Communication is then cut off without an explanation. Follow your own advice. In a dating scenario, you don't own exclusive rights to the person you went on a date with. The Flyers owned exclusive negotiating rights to the player.

Yes, I am aware that you pulled a thread unrelated to the discussion. The events I was referencing were in 2019. Not 2020. Hagg had destroyed all your contrarian insinuations.

Congrats on finding unrelated and irrelevant stuff though.

I have but one more irrelevant addition to this discussion, which is that the Flyers should be forced to wear black whenever the Ducks visit from now on, because that orange on orange on orange is brutal.

Their home colours are even worse. Those orange helmets are just gross.

But he wasn't traded the day he was drafted, he was traded a year and a half later, after even the Anaheim scouts knew he wasn't a center. Both teams knew his limitations, both teams also knew that Drysdale was talented but had struggled with injuries (and poor coaching).

I don't think the Flyers thought they got equal value (there's a high 2nd included as well), but I do thing they were intrigued with what Drysdale brought to the table if they could "fix" him. He has great speed and like Sanheim can drive play out of the D-zone with his skates. It remains to be seen if he can develop his playmaking skills - his development was set back by a couple seasons in Anaheim, first by being rushed as a rookie, then his injury his third season.

This is what Wheeler said at the time of the trade:

"Drysdale can certainly help in the short, medium and long term though. With his mobility and head for the game, he’s going to be an impact guy if he can stay healthy. Make good on that second-rounder and there’s an outcome in which Flyers fans feel good about this all things considered, even if Gauthier becomes an important piece with the Ducks."
I do want to (re)state that I liked the general thought around trading Gauthier for a high-quality young RHD, and getting a 2nd was seemingly an excellent bonus. I did read with my usual trepidation the largely unenthusiastic analyses of Drysdale's game, which have been borne out by his lack of impact and continued injury issues to date.

I agree that there was no need to pull the trigger on the trade so quickly, which very likely indicates that all efforts to maximize the return on Gauthier's high prospect status were not explored.
