Haven't been in this thread once since Drafting Demidov lol

Feels like we may get 2 picks in the Teens this year (which I have zero problem with actually)

I see a 'couple' RD's may be available this year, that's really what I hope they zone in on this year

Which is the best you think?
And who should we ideally target?
The Czechia kid?
The American?

Thanks!

Mrtka is way better than Hensler.

What about Malcolm Spence and Radim Mrtka for the Habs 2025 draft??

Would add a lot of the complementary pieces needed to win. I'm a big fan of Spence because he does the Dustin Brown things. Smart enough to play with any player. Has speed and physicality. Will do what it takes to win in all 3 zones and has enough skill to be productive.

I like Cootes a lot. Fast & aggressive player.
He passes the eye test, and his team is ass, which hopefully explains the pedestrian numbers (in comparison to other WHL draft eligible players).

Still, I'd feel a little more comfortable if a guy who's 1C/1PP/1PK with every opportunity in the world was producing a bit more.
Then again, if he did, he'd probably be an easy top 10 pick and out of our current range.

Agree. I don't see him as necessarily top 6 forward at next level. Probably more middle 6, defensive 3rd line center like a Ridly Greig type. Maybe Cirelli. I don't think N.A. prospects are all that deep in quality top 6 forwards.

A lot of "energy" type players.

Who are the tall Russian/Belarussian players in this draft? A ton of them are breaking out in the NHL now. Voronkov, Marchenko, Protas, etc.

But no one with first round talent. Cause those ones bust like Kostin, Mukhamudallan and Alexeyev.

So tall under the radar third-four round picks only.

if all the forseen BPA are gone (top 8 or so) I would go with Ivan, even if he has the same face as kuznetsov but glossy waxed and polished

I think we are at the point where we need quality more than quantity. I would trade up for Desnoyers and Eklund, maybe Frondell personally.

Outside of the top 6-7, its going to be very hard to find a player who has the potential to improve our line-up signifiantly. Hage is a better prospect than any centers left and we dont really need middle 6 wingers either.

I would swing for the fence or trade the picks for a young established top 6 foward.

Habs apparently had 2 potential trades in the work if Demidov and Hage were off the board at 5 and 21. So Im expecting alot of action next draft if our scouts and GM dont really like what is coming up.
