Who knows if hextall has had words with mason about playing through some pain...im sure whatever hextall says is regarded highly amongst goaltenders. One of the games great goalies telling you to play through it im sure you will give it a try....that's all speculation though...

Hextall is the one who decides who coaches the team and who is part of the medical staff. It's been obvious to any fan who follows the team well that Mason appears hurt for a while now. That's fans looking on from a distance, Hextall not only can know as much as he wants regarding the team (and should), but he has the power to change what he wants about the team.

Letting any player, let alone your starting goalie and only viable goalie in a clearly non-playoff season, trot out injured every game and practice is carelessness and idiocy beyond comprehension for what's supposed to be a premiere professional sports franchise. Leaving alone the fact that Hextall is supposed to be a man of vision and long-term planning.

Mason was obviously given the medical OK to play, if he was still hurt then it's his own fault for playing. Berube And the medical staff are the ones who should know if he's ok or not, even after being medically cleared. You can't blame Hextall for this just because he hasn't fired them, it's been discussed many times why it makes more sense to just wait until the offseason. And it's not like this was a predictable issue, Berube is an idiot but it's not like he has a habit of playing injured players.

Offensive zone faceoff after G and Voracek rested a minute and Berube puts 76-78-12 out there.

Everyone deserves blame from Mason to Berube to the medical staff to Hextall. It's a level of stupidity that shouldn't be reached no matter how the fault gets distributed.

Point being though that it's clear to even us, watching from television and reading some stuff on the internet, that Mason has been injured and probably hiding it or downplaying it. Anyone who has as much access to the team as Berube, the medical staff, or Hextall should absolutely know that Mason is injured. Out of those people, Hextall can do as he pleases. At that point you tell Berube to sit Mason or you fire the coach for being enough of a careless imbecile to play Mason injured in a non-playoff season during the middle of the regular season. That's a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Anyone else notice the Bruins PK?

That is the kind of pressure PK Berube wants. But we don't have the speed to play that way.

WHY THE **** DID MASON PLAY. The guy is clearly injured. Shut him down for a while, protect one of our assets. Ugggggg

Berube is coaching for his job clearly....mason is a HUGE part of the team...he goes down for an extended period of time you might as well throw the term "tanking" out there
