I hope we miss the playoffs. Maybe then some of players will wake up the next day watching teams like the islanders succeed and go "oh ****! We actually need to put some effort in it to win"

Major let down of a season. I'm sorry, this team shouldn't go from dominating the regular season and the making ECF to struggling to make the playoffs.

Dominating is a bit hyperbolic. We won with regularity, but we weren't slaughtering the opposition. Personally, I find last years team to be incredibly overrated.

Blueshirt Blitz, that's exactly what I don't like about Nash, he's a floater who gives up and doesn't play a lick of defense. Combine that with Richards who is a nightmare on ice, Del Zotto who has his mind on which girl he's bringing home, you have a recipe for disaster. This team is not playing for each other. Dorsett has alot of work to do to bring this roster together. Too many guys are brutal to watch at the same time. Biggest stinker of the season here.

Disagree. Last year's team consistently put on defensive clinics. They were impenetrable up until March.

Then suddenly McD and Girardi stopped playing like gods.

I was and am still behind the Gaborik trade. I just don't think Tortorella is going to take this team to a cup, regardless of the horses.

I agree, I'm not completely against the trade, but its the principal of the thing. To move a 40 goal guy; what has Torts done for this franchise to earn that leverage? One great season which was largely founded on that same guy having an MVP caliber season?

It just goes to show how much murder he's gonna get away with :help:

Defensively they were really good, and Hank put on a clinic night in and out.

Talent wise, we were pretty weak outside of Richards and Gaborik.

I don't.

We weren't winning game 5-1, 6-1, but we generally would take a lead and then score several insurance goals while shutting the opposing team down. They also came out of the gate a LOT better than they have this year.

Last year, the team was greater than the sum of its parts. This year? This team is the equivalent of 2+2 = 1.

To be honest, 2 goals allowed on 6 shots, Lundqvist still is the player of the period for Rangers. Nobody else is showing up.
Could say Brassard, had some good passes...or Stepan, but Zero goals on the board shows something.

yea, let's all worship the mighty NY Islanders, after a 6yr playoff hiatus, now hailed as a juggernaut in a shortened season...

Rick Nash should be having a field day against a team like this. Instead he's done nothing except look bad.

Also i'm still waiting for this board to call out Nash for floating when every other ****ing game people were on Gabby's case. Last game he completely gives up on a backcheck and this game he doesn't even bother moving to the puck.

I'm with you. I think a couple people noted how Nash stood along the boards and just let the flyers break out. I think Nash has gotten a pass on this all season because unlike Gabby, he's been scoring. But god that period was terrible.

Well at the very least, they're showing up for a game they need. More than the Rangers can say.

Shhhh they will hate you on here and make fun of you for not bowing down to the king

I am starting to believe you have a personal grudge against Lundqvist. Always posting negative comments about Hank when he is having a off period.

Where are you when the guy is caring the team on his back?

So we trade Gaborik and a lot of Picks for Brassard, Clowe and Moore. Except the first game after trade, Gaborik is just flying in CBJ. So Torts is the answer. Maybe thats why Richards is struggling. Damn.
Hear Lindy Ruff is a good coach.

If I recall we were pretty terrible to start out in lots of games last year as well --- not nearly this bad though.
