Not saying you're wrong, but has there been any real evidence of the bolded this season?
I'm pretty sure Chytil sat a few for being lackluster overall, but I can't recall anyone really getting benched due to defensive efforts as opposed to overall effort

Laf was dropped from the first line early on, Chytil was dropped from the Panarin line for this game. The Panarin line still could be -3 easily in this game again, Panarin's been very very poor in the last few games. Bench Panarin why don't you Gallant. It's so easy to kick the kids when the team's Stars are skating on past glories and reputation. That's what I don't like. Gallant is responsible for a lot of the decisions that lead to this situation. Own it, fix the problems, fix the kids, fix the 5v5 system, fix the transition game - that's on the coach.

You are correct but why are some of the young regressing? The ones that are supposed to be franchise altering players?

That's the "f***ing yikes" part. Something has felt rotten with this group, hasn't felt like there's been real chemistry or like..acceptance amongst any important new comers. Maybe it's a lack of respect for them? I don't know. They all seem to be on an island, both between themselves (for instance doesn't seem like much of a relationship between Kakko/Laf) and basically anyone else on the team.

Team comes off a huge win against Toronto they shouldn’t have touched a thing tonihjt. Just such an arrogant move by gallant. He deserves this

You think that's the problem? A couple of bottom 6 player tweaks arent gonna change this outcome. Carolina is good.

The idea that the team is not trying is what's ridiculous. The effort is very likely the same as it would have been. But the goalie makes a different. Shesty is the best goalie in the entire world. Georgiev can barely hold his jockstrap. And you seem to think it would have made no difference in terms of the game plan or outcome.

Shesterkin also doesn't give up rebounds like he's made of f***ing rubber and he helps to clear the puck out and up to his forwards numerous times a game. For a hard forechecking team that is absolutely key.
Deflection, slam dunk tap-in, five hole alone in front were the goals. Only one rebound goal off a goal mouth scramble

I’m just not high on any of the three young roster forwards anymore. There’s nothing there. They can still be good players but none of them is going to be a ‘come back to burn you’ superstar.
With the New York Rangers? That I might agree with.

I'd take a solid 25-25-50 second line forward out of Kakko.

Lafreniere, on the other hand, SHOULD be able to top out as a 70 point NHL player, even if it takes him a whole to get there. Anything less is a disappointment.

What are you talking about, everyone loves Laf on the team.

Take away any team's best player and they will be worse, yes.

Take away a good team's goaltender and they probably don't even notice.

For the last 17 years the Rangers have built from the goalie out. They are one of the only teams to do that and they have been able to because they had one of the best goalies in history and now, they have the best goalie in the league.

You can't just discount the fact that teams are built differently and say "oh, the Rangers suck because if you remove Jarry from Pit they'll still be good." Most teams don't invest heavily in goalies like the Rangers do. Now, we can argue whether that's the best way to win a cup and I'll certainly agree it's not, but saying they suck because they would be terribel without their best player is just a poor argument.

Bold Prediction: One of the 3 is going to be dealt soon(within 6-12 months). Most likely Chytil, but wouldnt be shocked if its Kakko.

Just sitting here thinking about when Kakko will request a trade for a fresh start.

the best players are the same for years, the style of play the same for years, the 'system' has been both times the last two coaches bending to his best players (theoretically what you're supposed to do) and them preferring to be pretty and not imposing themselves of their will or doing uncomfortable things.

they just don't wanna. nothing changes till that changes.
I don't know how much I buy the "too pretty" narrative. We have two top-2 draft picks that haven't deked anybody in their f***ing careers. Kakko plays hockey like I talked to girls when I was 15. I wish he would do something pretty.

I've said it before, I just don't thik this organization cares about coaching offense or sees it as something that needs to be developed on an individual or team level. You either have it or you don't (I mentioned Zibanejad and Panarin sponging points despite playing like ass). We've had two very prominent, probably Hall of Fame coaches on this team basically admit that they don't coach offense.

Yes, and them being pinned in their zone consistently and not being to breakout has nothing to do with the fact that Georgiev can't control anything and never helps get the puck out to his forwards.

He leaves the puck behind his net because he's not capable. If you can't see the importance of how Igor helps the break out night in and night out, then I don't know what to tell you.

If GG played Reaves-Goodrow-Rooney for 15 mins of the 3rd period to send a message I wouldn't have a problem. But overall we have to keep rolling lines, and while guys like Mika, CK, Panarin and Strome have been crap, they still at least occasionally look like doing something offensively. That's the big difference. KK and Laf just don't anything, like in any zone. We are almost at the point we should raffle their spot in the line-up to fans each night

Playing Huska vs Colorado was the right move, Georgiev was good vs Chicago and we would have lost that game vs the Hawks with Huska in net.
