Yes. He runs the NHL Betting Guide for The Athletic. Betting against us and betting on Seattle seems to be consistent issues with his model.

The clowns who do the hockey power rankings at The Athletic called us a paper tiger. I am getting really annoyed at the hockey writing there. Staple is a bit cranky there too.

I really hate how everyone on the Athletic (and elsewhere) treat Dom L's stuff like it was etched into stone tablets. Staple is more reasonable than Carp but everything the Rangers do he compares to the Islanders, and it irks me that I pay for the service and he cant be bothered to write game reviews after every game. Even Rick did that.

If the Rangers don't circle ADA's name to dole out some physical punishment via aggressive forechecking, what would that say about Georgiev's presence in the locker room? That they wouldn't make a point to have his back here?

Just from a strategy standpoint, you'd hope they do so at least just to attack ADA's weakness. He's not the guy who backs down from physical confrontation, but he's also terrible in his own zone. Attack that side of the ice every change you get.

At this point I think this whole episode exists on the internet and only the internet. I seriously doubt Georgiev has given it a second thought in the past calendar.

Matter of fact "nobody likes Georgiev" was birthed on the internet and never existed at all. "But he's weird!" He's Russian and he's a goaltender. It would be weird if he wasn't weird.

Rangers physicality won't matter against Carolina, all of whom can skate and move the puck faster and better than our checkers can get on them. Expect to be outshot 40-20.

Do we unironically think it's an insult now to say this team is top 10 but "only" top 10?

Knowing where our analytics are and knowing how Dom operates, he's giving us the benefit of the doubt at 8th to the tune of like 19 spots, for a guy who gets paid to write about analytics.

Truthfully i dont really care where the Rangers are slotted in national rankings, because it means nothing in the real world. The smugness of the analytics community on the Athletic is what bothers me. The Rangers entry in the power rankings is exhibit A; incorrect information, calling out NYR fans for defending the team and of course calling us a paper tiger the day after we beat his beloved leafs handily. hes a douche
