This game was lost when Gallant named Georgiev the starter. Not that he’s losing the game solely on his own or anything, but this team is mentally weak tonight. They look like a bunch of guys who know they’re outclassed and know they’re without their best player.

yep

why he did this I don’t know but he deliberately sat his best player for this match up and it deservedly blew up in his face

Tried of blaming the same guys for not showing up. I'm blaming the kids. They straight up suck. If any of them even played up reasonable expectations most had for them it would alleviate so much pressure from the rest of the squad.

Just dreadful. I guess the PP at least saved us from having to do a lap of the table with our pants around our ankles...

Don't know why Nemeth is playing over the young guys like Lundqvist and Jones, he's not providing a 'veteran presence' at all.
Disappointment all across the lineup. Really would have liked to see Kreider step and use his speed and strength to try and set the tone, he's been invisible.

Great point. No clue.
I watch other teams and other games. What really is noticeable with us is that we wave weakly at pucks, we skate wide circles and it's like a scrimmage atmosphere. Other teams go in straight lines, they see a loose puck they smell blood and crash the net hard, they don't wave at stuff. There's an oomph doing things on other clubs that I don't see with ours

I hate to be that guy, because we’re still preaching patience (out of fear), but if either of Laf/Kakko (let alone both) were playing anywhere near 90% of 1/2 picks in the past two decades, we’d probably actually be top 5 favorites this season. They’re both identical in impact to f***ing McKegg so… not to mention Chytil is like a 5th year pro who is likely going to have less of a career than Ales Kotalik, Lias was an absolute atrocity and Kravtsov is in the KHL again. We’re 0/5 on forward prospects, and yes there is still time, but if we were even 2/5 on them we’d be genuine contenders.
Hey that’s not fair... McKegg set up Reaves in the slot last game, can’t remember ever seeing Chytil or Kaapo set something like that up

Let’s pay all our best prospects to rent instead of going out and getting overwhelming young forward talent like Carolina has.
Whoever wrote this AI program that posts about the same topic 700 times needs to go to whatever line of code spit out this non-English sentence and fix it.

on the rush up the ice that carolina scored on schneider was holding the blue line. nemeth was damn near below the dots allowing the carolina player to just walk into the zone and force the play right at the net. absolutely awful defending. he follows it up by going below the goal line later in the shift and allowing the puck to go right past him to a wide open cane in front of the net. i dont get the obsession with big slow vets that dont have any real ability. being 30 years old shudnt be your calling card.

I'm officially off the Gallant bandwagon. The guy committed malpractice by starting Georgiev. You f***ing suck Gallant. Complete imbecile, garbage f***ing coach.
3 games in 4 days. Should end up with 4 of 6 points. He’s not dumb. He goes Shesty and probably still lose this game and then tomorrow is a cluster. It’s the regular season.

At what point do you send both Laf and Kak down? At least in the beginning, they couldn't pot one but they at least put some effort into their shifts.

Right now, the Rangers could get the same results with a corpse.

Georgiev has nothing to do with this, might be the dumbest of a long list of dumb things ive read tonight. Carolina is a good hockey team, top 3 in the league imo
I think calling my point stupid is extremely unfair. I specifically said it’s not his play that’s the problem. It’s the mental stuff that comes along with starting him. Everyone in that locker room knows that Shesterkin is their mvp. They also know Carolina is one of the best teams in the league. You fall behind a couple goals to that team and you’re getting outplayed AND your best player is on the bench? That’s not good for confidence and the mental side of it.

Hunt, nemeth, Mckegg. I guess every coach in the world has players like this that he just loves.

Hilarious that people think this game wouldnt look exactly the same with Igor in net. Pretty soft effort throughout the lineup, but the Hurricanes do this to teams, as we saw with Boston.

No one wants to hear this but Chytil/Laf/Kakko are completely useless. The team has no depth and is forced to play Dryden Hunt/Ryan Reaves in the top 6 because they flat out suck and play with no heart or intensity.
