Yeah I mean I'm one of the biggest defenders of Kakko but he has been garbage and has been for a string of 10ish games. Something had to be done. Obviously, getting him back with Panarin and Strome is probably what most of us would've preferred but whatever.

I hate to be that guy, because we’re still preaching patience (out of fear), but if either of Laf/Kakko (let alone both) were playing anywhere near 90% of 1/2 picks in the past two decades, we’d probably actually be top 5 favorites this season. They’re both identical in impact to f***ing McKegg so… not to mention Chytil is like a 5th year pro who is likely going to have less of a career than Ales Kotalik, Lias was an absolute atrocity and Kravtsov is in the KHL again. We’re 0/5 on forward prospects, and yes there is still time, but if we were even 2/5 on them we’d be genuine contenders.
