No matter what happens this should be an eye opener for the NHL. There is no damn reason teams shouldn't be able to add replacements. This tourney is being held in North America where 100% of the player pools are from. You want best on best then play games when injuries happen?

We couldn't even fill out a full damn roster yesterday, tell me how that makes aby damn sense when you're trying to grow the game?

This should be 25 man roster min. And if subs are still needed allot 2 extra injury subs per team. Who gives a shit this isn't the Stanley Cup finals. And this goes for all countries. Canada should be able to add whoever the hell they needed to as well. End rant.
It's not even about adding replacements, each team just should have been allowed to carry more players than 13F/7D to begin with. If each team had a few spares none of this would have been a conversation. Harley would have been the 8th D for Canada and played with zero discussion, and the US would have a spare D to replace McAvoy etc.

Yes which is why I said 25 man roster min to make sure this nonsense doesn't happen.

These just keep getting better...😂

It would be Jack taking out Sanderson, for the family...

You think he'd be wasting his time going to Boston if he wasn't playing? John Carlson is a closer plane ride if they just wanted a body.

Seems like Canada is trying to win on technicalities which is so on brand for them.
Coach Sullivan "yeah we are flying in Quinn, our country and NHL's best dman to sit in the stands. We could have just had Alex Vlasic take a f***ing Uber here to be a warm body but we felt this was more appropriate to do with everyone's time and money"....

This isn't debate club champ it's an internet forum, I don't owe you engagement to your preference.
All good pal, typically when you are having a conversation with someone it's normal to reply to what they actually said rather than with a low level response like 'you sound scared', but I'll be sure to lower my expectations with you next time.

Is there any way that Team USA could've structured this so that a player that was clearly injured to start the tournament, but could've been healthy enough to finish it, would have been able to be on the roster?

I guess short of listing Hughes as the 7th defenseman and calling someone up if/when injuries hit the top 6, there's nothing they could've really done, right?

I think it was supposed to be short enough that no one who was injured at the beginning of the tournament would/should play by the end of the tournament.

But here we are.

If you don't want to beat the best to win in a best on best tournament on roster and injury technicalities it comes off as scared. Every canadian should be clamoring for the NHL to let Quinn play but most are hiding behind the mythical rule book for this 1st time event. If something kept McDavid out of the tournament and an opportunity arose to get him in you don't think the same posters here saying Quinn shouldn't play would have a different stance?

Cool your jets there bud.

There were plenty of Americans calling the tournament a farce after Harley was added to replace Makar.

Plenty of cowards on both sides of the border.

Quinn better not reaggravate his oblique injury, that's all I have to say. The championship game just became a whole lot more interesting. This will likely jumpstart Jack also.

Sanderson just get "hurt" in practice and we all move on. If Canada whines about it, it just means they're scared of the US.
