I've zero hype for the 4 nations tournament. Pointless tournament.

I just want to see Habs games. I just hockey because of Habs. With no Habs there's no hockey.

Im glad it's NOT done this way, but the key to entertainment value will always be the u23 squad.

I literally just learned what this tournament by reading this thread just now. lol I heard about it a few weeks ago but knew nothing about this. I guess the Russian stars are the lucky ones.

Gimmick just another Gimmick. It might be a step above that last effort at international play I'm still trying to understand what that was supposed to be about. I expect we will see more drop outs in the next two weeks.

It's something to placate the PA and make a few extra bucks on the side, nothing more, nothing less. The players got a bit salty about not having their equivalent of the world series of baseball recognition wise, and this is the answer to that.

I would think the dangling carrot would be for some of these players to solidify their roster spot on the Olympic team. Withdrawing from it probably has the opposite effect.

Even for this tournament, I think montembeault answering the bell to play in the world's and winning the tournament held some clout for him making it to thos roster. Conversely, Suzuki not answering the call probably didn't help his cause (which i don't blame him for either).

I would have some interest if the NHL had opened this up to non-NHL players. Although the Euro leagues wouldn't be keen to have their best players coming over for an exhibition tournament. This format? nah
