let him rest. I am worried that PL is goingI had really hoped Suzuki would make it but alas.
Weird of them to be arrogant in 1998 when in 1996 they lost pretty handily to the US.
2006 team was a disaster. Somehow Canada’s kryptonite is always Switzerland.
It isnt until February I think and having missed so many games it might actually be good for him to get a few more in. I guess we shall see how he holds up between now and then.let him rest. I am worried that PL is going
Exactly! Why punish the players over their government's lunacy? In that case why are individual Russian players allowed to play in North America at all then?Really curious to see how seriously the players take this tournament. If they do take it seriously, then we have a home run.
Either way, it will be better hockey than the asg, so yay.
Just wish Russia was there and that we would not tie up hockey players with issues that they have no control over.

Truly a great point. It's a slippery slope as well. Like when it comes to the Olympics, there are plenty of countries involved that have had blood on their hands over the years yet it seems when it comes to punishing athletes, it only applies to certain countries.
NHL owners have enough financial power to lobby for their Russian players to not be banned.Exactly! Why punish the players over their government's lunacy? In that case why are individual Russian players allowed to play in North America at all then?

if I'm the coach, i put McDavid and MacKinnon on different lines but that's second guessingUSA looks better but Canada still ice the best player. Can't wait to see McD-Mack-Makar together, they're going to blow over the other teams.
They revamped their player development model back around 2009. Took some notes on what they were doing in Europe.i will say that USA roster looks pretty strong overall. i didn't know the Tkachuks and Hellebuyck were American. USA hockey has really come a long way in the last 20 years.
The 4 Nations gimmick is not the Olympics.I had really hoped Suzuki would make it but alas.
I don't think it'll be any different than a glorified Allstar game with no contact and half assed effort. This mid-season tournament has strong chances to become very competitive, very fast. I hope no major injuries gonna occur because it might impact a lot the remaining of the NHL season. Going from no flavour NHL all star weekend to that, is a huge step. Plus, it is taking almost two full weeks. So, lots of back-to-back games this season.
I would had gone for a formula of 3v3 or 4vs 4 between representatives of 6 countries over a three to four days period. 30 minutes games devided in three 10 minute periods, with 5 minutes pause in between periods. It remains competitive enough and very entertaining.
Having your country’s jersey on your back would had help a bit, I think.I don't think it'll be any different than a glorified Allstar game with no contact and half assed effort.
We shall see.Having your country’s jersey on your back would had help a bit, I think.
