Well, the top end player are amazing, but the rest of the lineup, defence and goalie included, its not the best we could ice.
Imo, Marchand shouldn't be there but that's alright, he won't be there for the Olympics. Depth players look solid, defence is solid.....goaltending is the massive question mark.

All this is is a trial run for the Olympics.

Trochek and Kreider are ridiculous spots over Thompson and Caufield. As for Canada, besides Marchand I can't really criticize the other decisions. Bennett brings the physical side, Cirelli+Hagel are probably the best PK combo in the league, and Konecny+Jarvis are perfect energizers. Maybe they should have brought someone else instead of Sanheim too.

Really wish we could have seen team Russia and maybe a team gathering the rest of Europe.

A lot of players got snubbed for team Canada... Strome, Duchene, Scheifele, Batherson, Tavares, Kyrou, Guenther, even Monahan who's doing great this year.

If you want to get ready for the Olympics, you could've added Bedard, Lafreniere and Celebrini in there.

Cirelli could be a head scratcher but he's having a good season and he knows his role.

Would've been fun to see Suzuki but whatever, it's not that big of a deal. I think the team is well balanced.

I understand some of the selections as it's basically a 4-game series with NHL rules and rink size, but I think the Americans should be favoured. Stacked roster (too) and much better goaltending than Canada, imo

Unlike Team Canada and Team USA, Finland knows how to appreciate a real talent.

Glad to see Yo-Elle participating in the Four Nations tournament.
He does seem like the type that would give 110% every shift for his country rather than his NHL team

Tale of tape on the announced rosters:

Team/average age/average height/average weight

Canada 28.96 6.01.0 196.4
Finland 27.87 6.02.1 201
Sweden 28.87 6.01.7 198.6
USA 27.22 6.01.7 202.8

All teams 28.24 6.01.6 199.7

Would think there are sure to be some tweaks to the rosters for injuries.

Idk Trochek is underrated

Agree, except Jarvis. Better options available. Plenty of them.

I was thinking it would be cool if we could have a Czechia and Slovakia united team, and also Russia.

I am surprised Canada decided to select the shortest team.

Too bad 90% of them are losers. I count 16 Cup winners on Team Canada. I count 3 on USA. And one of the non-Cup winners on Canada was the most recent Conn Smythe winner

I think McDavid and McKinnnon really make Canada.

But it's such a short tournament, we'll see what happens...
