This is something brought up all the time. Do you worry about Brayden Point? Or Quinn Hughes?
They aren't on the Devils, so I don't care. And maybe Jack/Nico will make adjustments to get less killed, but then again Timo who you propped hard above got himself killed in a playoff game.

I think it's hard to compare players bc guys like Tkachuks and Marchand could get hurt * because * of how they play, and our guys get hurt because of the way the Tkachuks and Marchands play.

There's definitely a middle ground who fare better in playoff hockey.

the real question is how the hell do they ever go back to the all star game?
I agree, and I think the initial thinking was that this would be an annual thing like the NBA mid season tourney. That said, all it took was one look at McDavid getting hit after seeing Theodore wincing and then Matthew Tkachuk sitting out the third period to tighten the sphincter of the NHLs brass.

Maybe the 3 fights in 9secs and great game did enough good publicity to outweigh it, and $$$ wins, but at some point maybe the agents and NHLPA stomp it. Sadly.

I think the fighting is a curiosity. My kids and their friends will watch if it comes up but by and large they are more interested in the highlight reel goals. In today's world kids can watch MMA events to get their fill of violence if they so choose. I doubt removal of fighting would change much about the game beyond the last player on the bench. Instead of MacDermid it would be a smaller skilled player most likely. I'd like to see the casual hits in the back and alll the clutching and grabbing taken out of the game more than the fighting. What all of this tells us is the game is refereed poorly. Whether by design or incompetence I am not sure.
I think fighting will always have it's place. Every league that tries to ban it ends up with terrible stick swinging incidents. The NHL has had it's Brashear, and Lindy, and others, but a game like the other night full of passions and emotions might have led to alot worse than six guys who already occasionally drop the gloves squaring off.

Granlund is coming out of this tournament with his stock at a High.
I was thinking the same thing. Showing what he can do when surrounded by some better players

Love him or hate him, Chris Kreider is a real American hero and needs to be in the championship game.

Scratch J. Hughes if you have to, but keep CK in.

I absolutely love wearing my red, white and blue Kreider jersey, the same way I still proudly wear my Norwegian Zucc jersey.

Next time they do a four nations they might pick some new countries based on lack of credible goalies. Countries that have nothing better or healthier than Binnington, Ersson and Lankinen will be disqualified.

Or they'll let a few particular Russians join different rosters that need a goalie.

Faber really sucks at breaking out. And Miller trying to be the play driver when you got the better player in Hughes who’s an automatic zone entry is something else.
